brian42
Looks like a good deal for the leafs even though Barrie has 1 year left especially consider the salary retention. Hopefully we will have a shot T Barrie next year to replace Tanev. Edited July 1, 2019 by brian42

They’re going to offer him a huge contract extension. Leafs actually have a D core now with Reilly and Barrie. Just like everyone thought Karlsson was going to free agency? The Leafs will make a stupid offer for Barrie to stay. No guarantees he won’t take it.
amplified0ne
They better hope Nylander starts off on fire so they can trade his ass. Don't really understand this from Colorado's point of view, especially retained salary on Barrie. Should have started and ended with one of Liljegren or Sandin instead of Rosen
Provost
Did Shanahan just ask Sakic for a favour? That salary retention seems unnecessary except to get them out of a jam. Lets hope that Barrie doesn’t re-sign, but he probably does. If Ceci plays better once out of the shadow of being on the Sens, Toronto suddenly has some hope on the D corps. Leafs praying the salary cap jumps by 30 million the next few years So much talent and yet a huge mess
c00kies
Great trade for Toronto! Don't like this deal for the Avs, as Kadri has been crossing the line and I think they could have had a better option without losing Barrie here (which they could have dealt for a 1st at the deadline if they wanted to). Barrie was being shopped by the Avs because he wants to test FA 2
Petey Castiglione
Do the Leafs even have the cap space to re-sign Barrie? Marner hasn't re-signed yet.
Smashian Kassian
Win-win trade. Toronto gets a RHD & top 9 body back. Like it alot for them aside from the risk in Barrie leaving. Colorado couldnt sign Barrie, so they get a 2C under contract to replace/upgrade on Soderberg.
morrissex95
I guess Kerfoot is Toronto's 3C or maybe Spezza?
Kragar
Well, better to have the slimeball on the Avs than the Flames.

Solinar
Kadri > Soderburgh, and Barrie was going to walk away, and the Avs could afford to let him go with whom they have in the pipeline. Interesting that Kerfoot was part of it. Leafs get softer and more skilled, while the Avs get some sandpaper and when Kadri is rolling, is an excellent 2nd line center, which the Avs seriously need. Reilly Barrie Muzzin Ceci Sandin Lillijgren Doesn't look all that bad on paper, but Muzzin is the toughest of the lot. This group could be dangerous if they gel, but could be tissue paper soft when it comes to gritting out a win over a team like the Bruins. 48MPHSlapShot
Wow. I'm surprised they gave up Kerfoot. Seems like a mistake to me. I would say I like the deal for the Leafs, but if Barrie walks at free agency I don't really like the deal for either team.
