Sutter and Beagle went down. He shifted from being in more of an offensive role to a more defensive one. During that time, he had a ton of minutes. He's probably trying to get to the Christmas break and hopefully the team is healthier when they come back.

Checking the icetime after the game, I did notice that the deployment was more even when the roster was healthy.

If Canucks do make a coaching change at some point this season who should they replace him with....Peter DeBoer?...

He's said he would take another coaching job this season IF the right situation presented it self...

Babs has too strong a personality. He's a very good coach but I don't know if he'd be a great fit in Vancouver...

DeBoer made the SCF twice .. once with NJD and once with SJS.

Just for discussion sake.. not calling for Green to be fired....

The team pretty much dominated the entire game aside from the 1st 10 minutes which unfortunately put them behind. We didn't get the result we wanted, but Green woke the team up. Green is a player's coach and is going to back his guys. Anything seriously negative that he has to say, he can tell his players behind closed doors. If he starts throwing players and his team under the bus, then he's going to lose the locker room fast. The players and the coach seem to have a mutual respect and that's a good thing.

Whose talking about throwing guys under the bus? Any good coach in the post game will say "we did ABC real well, but we need to work on XYZ.".  Win or lose. You never hear anything like that from Green. He *could be* like that behind closed doors, as you say, but he should be reassuring the public that he recognizes weaknesses in their game and is working on improving it. By not doing that he gives off the impression that he is completely satisfied with his teams performance and sees no issues with the status quo. If that is the case it's a very dangerous attitude to have. World class coaches always see room for improvement no matter how good the team is.

Great points !

Green seems to not want to fuel the media fire when he is in front of the cameras.

Hypthetically, we all know that Bo is the right choice for Captain but this team seems to be EPs' - in my opinion.  Looking at teams with succeesful coaches and records (of course there will be exceptions) seems to have a head coache that has a solid relationship with the teams' playmaker(s).

A good place to start,  would probably be to ask the playmaker(s) opinion then the leaders when hiring for a new coach; a coach that will click with EP and have the leaders support (if I were the GM or the owner of this team).  EP (based on his interviews) will probably voice his opinion but will also defer to his teammates for there opinions - talented but seems to have a team first attitude.

Annnnnd the wild have past us in the standings...The 2/3 games coming up against Vegas are going to be pretty vital if we want to keep playoff aspirations alive.

The team never seems to be ready for the game, costing us to concede the first goal and lack of preparation has become a part our identity this year. Hopefully they can finish this next week with a winning streak and regroup after the holiday break.

If not, our playoff chances be like this man. Going going gone!

I think Green should change the game. Put in the more creative players and stop trying to crash into ozone.

Put in Goldy, Baer and Loui, change the set completely. Not all games but do it from time to time. We have the depth to shift between grinders and skilled.

Expectations have been or are too high and the pressure on the young guys to win, too soon.

The team needs more high skilled young players playing and proving in the NHL, not some "hopeful" prospects, those prospects only sell tickets, not win games.

Build through the draft, hire a drafting GM, be patient, that was the refrain 4 years ago when many posters were arguing there was no rebuild happening, those poster were saying patience you can't expect over night success, it is a long process. Guess what, those same posters, a lot of them, now say the process is over after only two years of admitted rebuilding. True it can be accomplished that quickly but not by this GM who deals away the future to win now and then fails at that.

Some posters point at players and coaches for the failures, wrong.

Three coaches, Torts, Willie and Green.

Numerous players

 But only one GM

Clearly this GM's vision is wrong.

All the young guys are feeling the pressure and it is affecting them as can be seen with Horvat's play, at home he isn't performing, where the heat is the highest.
