I hate Eriksson as a hockey player, but he is still playing a solid NHL defensive game

This is indicated by when Green uses him

And I am still waiting for Hawryluk's name to be mentioned

Take a look at what he signed for ...........this indicates his game to some degree

And I will say this.......yes 4th liners need to score, but their bigger job is to prevent them

And I have no axe to grind......

I haven't seen any clips so far in scrimmages.. but u think Erkisson offers more to us than Hawryluk?? Wow that's just sad after all the media hype on JB having followed him since 2016.... I know it was such a small sample size but he did show up playing for the Panthers/Senators.

Nah. I'm also a Canucks fan and want what's best for the team. Like many other posters, I've been waiting an eternity for the team to bring Stanley home and will cry tears of joy once it finally happens.

With that said, my posting style is different, and I understand it's rubbed many people the wrong way. At the end of the day, I'm not here to cheerlead, fistbump and make friends. If I disagree with someone, I'll point it out.

That's the way it should be on a discussion board.

Shouldn't "should on" your board-mates mate.

I would rather have Motte on the third line move Roussel to left wing fourth line a fast scoring 3rd line

Pettersson - Miller - Boeser

Pearson - Horvat - Hoglander

Motte - Gaudette - Virtanen

Roussel - Beagle - Sutter

Eriksson/Hawryluk/MacEwan

Roussel is WAAAAAY better than Motte.  Motte.2 ppg, Roussel .4 ppg.  I'd rather have Roussel with two broken hands and a bad knee, than a healthy Motte.
Just kidding, Motte is a PK specialist and role player.  Roussel has skill and is multi dimensional.

Anyone know what time the scrimmage is being streamed?

Yeah, sure. That's a real nice spin, there doctor. You're an A-hole. Always have been and always will be. It comes naturally to you. You can't help yourself. As far as calling it straight up, so do I. You're simply a jerk. Go do it somewhere else.

Absolutely good point, especially if he's got some offence that the kids Gaudette and Virtanen can tap into. I think Green probably wants a "veteran" on that line but Motte's playing style might really complement the two kids in terms of fighting and winning board battles. Offensively, Motte's style could really unleash Gaudette and Virtanen.

I'd be really disappointed if Green chose Eriksson over Hawryluk for the extra forward spot...  Hawryluk shows more speed and grit and has hunger to score goals!!

Sounds great......but, just curious where your observations come from?

The stream for tonight’s scrimmage will be on Canucks.com.

So pumped for it. I'm assuming it'll be off the Canucks youtube page as well - I'll have it on my TV, ready to watch, 7 p.m.

By the way, I don't even know why you are a member of this board, you're an absolute troll. All you do is look for trouble and I'm not even sure you are a real Canucks fan.

All this over your beliefs about where Motte should play in the lineup?

then what ARE you here for? the purpose of a fan forum is to share your joy for something with people who share that joy. what do you or anyone else have to gain if your whole purpose is just to debate and antagonize?

it'll be interesting to see which d pairing Green likes to put out when Pearson-Bo-Hog's are on. That line is going to give up more chances against than with TT or Loui, but also be more dynamic and likely give up the puck a bit more.

I can see hogz getting moved around a bit when the going gets tough or they are protecting a lead. When we need a goal hogz will be on that line. I imagine him playing 12 mins a night where Bo and Pearce closer to 20. Either way I think the best spot for hogz is on that second line and he’s gonna learn a 2 way eventually playing with those guys

Historically I'd agree. With the addition of Hoglander... Not so much.

I'm really quite curious how our middle 6 shakes out this year. I find it hard to believe we're only going to have one 'shut down' line (4th).

We'll see what happens...

Like I said above I think it’s gonna be situational. And things are gonna change over the course of the season. It’s great that Hogz is possibly starting off with Bo and I think he will learn a great deal from him.

By the way, I said give him a shot. Second, this guntrix clown has been trolling this community for the past years, especially with Virtanen, and anything else he/she/it, can dig their claws into. Everything is a nagative spin on things. It's pretty pathetic. Mind your own business

Oh yeah, for sure, things will be VERY fluid.

I wonder if Green is going to move to a strength vs strength matchup this year.  Lotto line straight up against Edmonton, Toronto, Calgary at least.

That makes Bo's job easier to match up against every teams second line.

Net result -- 3rd line defensive abilities (or lack of) won't show up as much as they will play against bottom 6 players.

Gaudette was the 6th most sheltered player in the league last year.
