Assuming he doesn’t need time to get up to speed sure.

Most likely he would after sitting over a week and not having any practice. Hard to use your speed when you’re not sure where to be.

Kucherov and Stamkos missed the entire season and had no issues with speed.

It is perfectly fine Gadjovich is not an elite speedster. How he uses the speed he does not have is what will make or break his career.

If you ain’t an impact player in your first game people going to complain nowadays.

People are already complaining and writing off Lind. It’s crazy.

Thankfully they have no say in what the team does.

Kucherov was skating for a month straight. Not really comparable.

Rookies also have their nerves get the best of them. You hear time and time again players saying it takes time to get your legs going.

Maybe wait more than a period before judging him?

Stammer played 38 reg season games and put up 34 points this year

what do you suggest?

how many forwards have "some linemates to play with" in the present?

IMO Graovac, Hawryluk and Chatfield will not be NHL'ers next year, so why play Gadj with them. Just setting him up to fail.
