[Signing] Kraken sign Adam Larsson

Recommended Posts

Cheaper than he would have gotten on the market but he knows they'll be good, smart move by both parties.

Real shame JB didn't get a chance but time to move on, there'll be other opportunities.

Larsson was the perfect piece for this Canucks team though. Now Seattle start their draft on the front foot with 1 less top-4 guy to pick.

Here’s the pitch:  We will give you 16 million and You don’t have to live in Edmonton”.

no kidding.

the reality is we have a 9 million dollar black hole in our cap left for 1 more year. We weren't going to be making any huge signings this year anyway.

Ron Francis: Hi Adam, it's Ron from the Kraken

Adam Larsson: Are you based anywhere near Edmonton?

Ron Francis: No.

Adam L: Sign me up.

well what dd you expect for $650 million and Bettmans version of expansion? to think that they wouldn't be good out of the gate would be silly.

Larsson left money on the table for sure, they must have made a hell of a pitch.

Just curious: do you have any idea how this pitch looks like? Obviously a pitch that is not focusing on term and  / or money. ....

Not good, on many levels. The Canucks are no longer a team players are attracted to. Crap team, crap media. Not good.

Media and fans r brutal.

League knows it.

We went from having truly passionate fans to just bitches that moan and groan.

not yet but just based on the reported AAV I think the Canucks for sure would have gone to 5. Other teams would have easily matched it.

How do Canucks get their holes filled with facing this cap situation?

I mean when they go the free agency route they have to spend money - for sure more money than other NHL teams (because of taxes...)

we likely don't, outside of a Schmidt trade. We're going to pretty much have to run out the same club as last season.

Yep - just have to live through the pain for a bit, and hope no transactions that lengthen it occur.

there's pretty much two options - a Nate trade, or whatever we can get in free agency by buying out Jake and Holtby or a Holtby trade.

Even just training  the 9th oa isn't enough, we still need to create cap space if thats in play. But I really hope we keep that pick.
