You also have to get rid of Benning. He constructed this team. He’s just bad at building a competitive team. If you look at Tampa. Do we have anything that Tampa has to win a cup? Maybe a couple of pieces but nowhere close to them. It’s obvious he is not good. 7 years.

Problem is, they’re just good hits. Nothing illegal, no foul play…

Good period for Pettersson. And Miller had that glorious chance shorthanded, he had room past Koskinen. 

 

Not a great goal to give up, then a couple bad turnovers by Rathbone & Boeser. Prior to that we weren't playing bad.

I still believe that with Hamonic and Motte back we’re only a couple big bottom 6 guys and a new coach away from being a playoff team.

I know it doesn’t look like it right now but I just don’t think the players are buying what the coach is selling anymore.

Sometimes I wonder if our guys are suffering from what they call post-Covid syndrome. 
 

There’s a general lethargy and/or a lack of mental sharpness, that can be hard to shake. It is said to take, 6 months to a year, for high-performance athletes…like a post-concussion syndrome, I kid you not. Can any medical personnel out there verify this rumour? I presume every case is different but…

I think the bubble "playoff run" gave us, the organization and the city, a false sense of identity. That small sample size was possibly the anomaly.

How about starting with winning one period. Outshot every game. Slow. Not one dominating period where you could say hey I see how this team could be good. It’s just ugly.
