Elias Pettersson
Just now, Warhippy said: At that point why not retain on all 3 Horvat 50% Kuzmenko 50% Schenn 50% It's literally just dead/worthless cap anyway to this team after the tdl and makes literally zero difference in our year if we do it I'd rather keep Kuzmenko unless we get an offer that blows us away. Put him out there and see what the offers are of course, but ideally I'd want to keep Kuzy with Petey and try and get a King's ransom for Horvat and Schenn...

Captain Canuck #12
I have a feeling Schenn will end up being an example of a player Rutherford and Allvin make a "hard decision" on and trade at the deadline (probably for a 2nd). If we do let him go a second time though, I think it might be a bit much to ask to expect him to re-sign with us a second time.
Angry Goose
Draft picks. This back end is gonna hurt badly when he is gone but if they accumulate picks maybe they can do some good traded in the off season
spook007
Love Schenn and what he brings to the team, and ideally, he could be on our back end the next 5-6 years.... but that is not going to happen, as he isn't young any longer. If a 1st or 2nd round pick for Schenn is offered, it should be taken... We can't afford to keep players that are getting on with age, if the returns are high picks. In saying that, if the second is flipped for another stillman, then, for the love of god, keep Schenn... 1
24K PureCool
Starting bid is a 1st. So 20 something team wants him right? Seems a fair starting price.
Phil_314
Totally on-board with trade and re-sign. Give the man a chance to win another Cup while we stock another early round asset in our cupboard,

If the starting price is a 1st, you have take it and run. But I highly doubt it.

Not so much next year though LOL, while Schenn could continue to be a bargain.

If a contending team could somehow add Horvat AND Schenn, that's going to put them over the top. Those are two guys that are going to show up big-time in the playoffs. How much is a Stanley Cup worth? Some very, very good picks and prospects I would think!
cocanuck
I highly doubt anybody would offer a first,, second would be great! Picks are great,,, who would be making them again? What was his draft record in pittsburgh?
nux_win
No way man. WE need a guy like Schenn on our team. In fact we need several more players like him if we are ever going to survive the playoffs. Go Canucks Go!
Nucker 67
If they're not getting a 1st or a really good prospect back, then just re-sign him.
VegasCanuck
I'd rather keep Schenn, he's one of the parts of our defense that is actually working right now. 1
Darius
Schenn brings a lot of elements to the table that a playoff bound team would love. One of them is toughness. Fights, hits, backs up team mates. Wait a minute...didnt a GM once give up a 1st for Ryan Reaves? If a 1st is offered you would have to take it. AriGold
I would for a 2023 2nd, that would be a excellent player. Nothing less. Even if it was Ducks 3rd rounder, No dice...
Ghostsof1915
I'd prefer to keep Schenn. But if a 1st is coming back. That's hard to say no to.

My thought was to package them to one team. With 50% salary retained they would only cost around $3.3 million combined. New Jersey, Carolina, Vegas, NY Rangers, Boston, Dallas. Even Tampa Bay might want to take one more shot. I'm thinking New Jersey and the NY Rangers could offer us the best packages. Nemec, Holtz and a 1st from Jersey. Kakko, Schneider and a 1st from Rangers. Jarvis, Morrow and a 1st from Carolina. These are examples. Maybe more can be put into play with a bidding war at the TDL...
