Down by the River
Heading to Scotland this July and looking forward to picking up a couple of bottles. Was gifted this guy: Much better with a drop of water. In between my first and second glass I had some pepper sausage that really added some spice as it went down the hatch.

Coconuts
I picked up the double barrel not too long ago and it's absolutely delightful https://shelterpoint.ca/single-malt-whisky/
Chris12345
Drinking Laphroaig Quarter Cask now....awesome. What's the 2019 -2020 whisky? Might be Lagavulin 16 for me.
Alflives
Decided to order a special coffee for an after dinner drink. Told the waiter to bring a coffee with scotch, but hold the coffee. Guy looked at me like I was from another planet!
D-Money
I’m really into old fashions, and have been experimenting with different bitters. Of the regular “aromatic bitters” (most common one is Angostura), my favourite hands-down is Fee Brothers:
Chris12345
Has anyone tried Glenfiddich XX?
Chris12345
Stupid question... If you buy a cask what do you with it? Obviously you drink it but it can't sit half full can it? Will the air wreck it?

Chris12345
I just opened a bottle of Glenfiddich XX. I thought it would be a marketing gimmick....wrong. Great stuff.

Gollumpus
Wow, I'm feeling envious here. My mainstay is Lagavulin 16 yr old. I'm pretty content with that, but looking forward to trying some of these others. regards, G.

Roger Neilsons Towel
Posted a status update about this but figured I would post it here as well to get this thread going again. I tried searching for it but for some reason it never came up. Anyway, I’ve been meaning to try this Blended Malt Scotch for a while as I’ve heard good things about it. Decided to treat myself last night. Damn it’s good stuff! Cheers! (PS I moved the thread from White Noise to Off-topic General as there are other similar threads in that subforum.)

Sp3nny
Where the heck has this thread been!? I have some reading to do...might as well do it with a fresh dram. Edit: Peat lovers will recognize this bottle for sure (Bruichladdich Octomore 11.1), but if anyone likes peaty stuff and hasn't had any Bruichladdiich, I HIGHLY recommend it. This bottle is 5 years old, but you would never know it. Edited May 19, 2021 by Sp3nny

My personal fave is Lagavulin 16 but the 8 year, while good, doesn't rate much for me compared to say Laphroaigh or Ardbeg. Even Connemara out of Ireland.
