Popular Post coryberg
Wow!!! This could throw a huge wrench in some contenders plans. Good on JB for getting toffoli early. His stock would surely have risen today. 2 3 7 3
rekker
Makes sense. The guys a beast and a leader on that team. A rebuilding team still needs leadership moving forward.

CanucksJay
Great on JB. Strike early before the competition moves in.
Warhippy
That's awesome. One more unavailable name that might have come west. But pricey though. Rangers might have some ugly cap issues in a few years
Alflives
Makes sense to keep Kreider. Coach started a while ago to play to win, and certain players got their icetime chopped. Guys are buying in now that the team is trying to win. Is the King still their starter?

Spoosh
Good call by NYR. Probably did't like the value that they were offered from others and held on. With Panarin, Kakko, Kreider etc they still have a good core to build around and aren't that far out.

Their rebuild is pretty much over. Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but a reason for the Rangers recent improved play has been the hot play of their young goalie Igor Shesterkin. However, it appears that he may be out for a while now due to being in a car accident this morning. https://nypost.com/2020/02/24/rangers-stars-igor-shesterkin-pavel-buchnevich-involved-in-brooklyn-car-accident/ Rangers goalie Igor Shesterkin and forward Pavel Buchnevich were involved in a car accident on Sunday night, team president John Davidson said on Monday. The two Russians were taken to New York Presbyterian Hospital with minor injuries after the crash in Brooklyn. Shesterkin, who was driving, suffered a small rib fracture and will be re-evaluated in a couple of weeks. Buchnevich was shaken up but is considered day-to-day. Shesterkin, 24, has emerged as the heir to Henrik Lundqvist’s goaltending throne, winning nine of his first 10 starts with a 2.23 GAA. Buchnevich, also 24, has 14 goals and 37 points in 61 games this season. Hope he is okay and makes a speedy recovery, but their chances of making the playoffs this year have definitely taken a hit.

Coconuts
I still think they'd have been better off moving him, but you can't just throw a bunch of young guys together. Gotta have some vets. Could see this aging poorly, but they've got the cap space for it I suppose.
JayDangles
Wow! All I take from this is JB is doing a hell of a job this year. The Toffoli deal, and the timing of it is a veteran move by JB. Love it! Take that Calgary!

HorvatToBaertschi
Couldn’t this potentially be a sign & trade though?
WHL rocks
Value for Tofu would have gone from Madden + 2nd to Madden + 1st today if JB had waited. Got exactly what he wanted and paid a reasonable price. Another home run trade if Tofu signs in summer. With Kreider it just seemed like he was going to sign extension with NYR. Even after reports of talks breaking down yesterday seemed like that was a deliberate leak as part of negotiations. They were haggling over the 7th year.
