Well Bo Horvat should get a BIG return. Outside that maybe Schenn gets is a 2nd rounder. Other trades will involve salary moving to and fro 

I think most just want to be fans of a team that competes and plays hard. How that comes to pass should be looked at on the whole rather than in each transaction. 

Maybe in my dream world Bo gets traded for a young D prospect, and a 1st as a rental, and then in the off season he can come back after some other players are off the books...

Pratt put up some real impressive numbers from the blue line in the 40s. If you do a relatively thorough look throughout NHL history, you'll definitely see his name show up. Would've probably won a Norris in 1943-44 when he won the Hart trophy and would've been a finalist the next year too.

im kwakwaka'wakw/namgis here on the island, Bears bean a solid pick-up for us though, now hopefully we do damage in the off-season to improve this team, i get why people arent happy with management and talking sh!t but im gunna wait untill summer to see if they do anything worthwhile before i start complaining.

I confess, I don't know nearly enough about other team's players which is why I don't weigh in on potential moves. But I always go check out players who've been listed to see reports and reviews on them (mostly to see their size, lol...we need bigger guys who can d). So I will do that and report back to you. I think so, too. Horvat and Boeser are good players and honourable men, but their presence hasn't made much of a difference and the team is pretty much as bad now as it was when they started. I think Myers could go, too, and I feel the same about him as about the other two. Cap space, draft picks and a prospect or two would be good. AAnd a big yes to signing Kuzmenko with some of the the new cap space.

All I know is this mix isn't right. If the team wants to be a winner it's going to have to make changes.

I think management have turned chicken on trades.

Maybe they just don't want to be fleeced.

But they seem to like doing minor deals, instead of major moves.

All will be forgiven if they pull off some Joe Sakic level trades however.

My bet would be on Nashville or NYI getting him.  I think the divisional rival thing will keep Boeser from going to Calgary.

I don't see Nashville having the assets coming our way unless we retain cap on Boeser. Nino Niederreiter and Fabbro for Boeser could work but a weird trade. 

From NYI Bailey + late pick for Boeser could work. We save 1.7M in cap and a year less contract. Bailey having only one more year left on his contract makes him a bit more moveable as a rental. 

moving boeser for an expiring contract will allow us to re-sign both horvat and kuzmenko. we'ld still need to move miller and myers to build a winner here.

Trade ‘em all! 

I'd settle for a Miller and OEL buy-out. Or a Miller trade to Colorado with $3M retained for Kurtis McDermid.  Just. to. get. rid. of. him.

imo, we're only 3 or 4 players away from where we want to be. but to get them we have to move some of our bad contracts. miller, boeser, pearson, garland, oel, myers and poolman. there lies the problem. maybe a more structured coach too.

I'd do a 3rd but not much else; if we wait long enough and Toews/ Kane ask out, I wouldn't be surprised if Murphy waives too and hopefully then we can pounce with Boeser having regained some value.  That or we go for McCabe if his ask is lower.

Chicago are rebuilding and even tanking.  They project their rebuild to last minimum 5 years and want to do it right this time.  DeBrincat was younger than Boeser but was considered too old to be part of their future core. 

Would expect them to want futures in trades for their players.  They've signed several expiring UFAs on the hope to off-load them at the TDL.  

Why?  So the Canucks can add to the Coyotes retreads?  Isn't OEL and Conor Garland enough of a failed Coyotes reunion?  You want to add another?

@smithers joe I don't think they are required to tell people what their current plan is. Plans change. Obviously, they hoped they'd do better. I suspect Miller's going to get traded off during the TDL.

we have lots of 3rd pairing defensemen. i'm thinking like a younger luke schenn to play with hughes and a bieksa type for the second pairing. hopefully that would shore up our defense.

Make us .500 so right I need the middle.  We need are tear it back to the studs full on (5-7) year rebuild.  From the goalie out, except for Petey and Hughes we suckeroo.
