6.750 for BO is my prediction.
-
dickinson for sandin?
-
why wouldn't JT not sign for 8.250 mil over 6 years 49.500 mil.
retire at 37.

Probably because he could get additional 2x 8.25 on the contract.
He may even still retire at 37, if he falls off a cliff edge. But players want as much as they can, unless there are outside reasons for them to take less.
Sedins as they wanted to remain in VCR and probably didn't fancy being seperated. Some players wanna 'come home' (Garrison/Hamhuus) etc.Don't think that is Miller unfortunately, as he has been around and seen what youngsters are being paid straight from the go... probably a little envious even. But it would be great if that was the out come.
-
hearing more that the rangers are still in on miller. apparently they feel they have the prospects to get it done.

@Odd. I'd be happy with any two pieces from that offer.
-
chon derry is still alive. he dropped by for a coffee and donut break before heading back to rupert. it was good to see him.
-
can the canucks afford to pay JT 9 x 5 and then 1 x 3= 48 mil.?
-
i wonder if montreal would move either arber xhekas or arvid hendriksson for dipietro?
-
It would be cool to get Arber Xhekaj into our system. Not just because of his surname but because we could use another young (under 23) d-man in the system.
That said, I don't think they'll part with either because they have a similar goalie in their system at the same age in Cayden Primeau -- who, like DiPEtro, could probably use a change of scenery.
A more likely scenario would be maybe be a Primeau for Dipietro swap. Swap the goalies who need a change of scenery with each other. They are the exact same age, 23. Both would have fresh starts in the organization. And Primeau could be a better long term third stringer for the Canucks than Dipietro and be a D'Elia replacement after next season.

did letterimakki score any goals this tourney?
-
hope his ankle isn't broken.
-
what will our cap be like when our ltir kicks in?
-
@mll is the fancy rules man around here.
-
what 3 players on the team do we need the least?
-
is joshua a center or winger? 3rd or 4th line? better than dickinson or pearson? JR says he should make the big club this season.
-
I don't think its helpful to compare him whether he is better than Dickinson or Pearson. I think you have to look at what he brings aside from other players.
When I watched him play for Utica during that bubble season and when the Blues shared Utica with Vancouver, Dakota Joshua looked engage in every play. He kept his motor running hot, skating hard, effective checker in all 3 zones, and is very versatile. At lower levels he has produced offense - and because he is a late bloomer that might be an area he can still develop, but considering how the top 9 is already stacked and will be fighting for a 4th line role, his skill set will be judged on what he can bring in an energy role.
His game stylistically sort of looks like Justin Bailey - scorer at the AHL level but at the NHL level is an energy/bang and crash sort of player which we sorely lack. This will help preserve JT MIller, so he doesn't have to be the physical presence up front, and Joshua adds some toughness.

would mikeyev fit better as the defensive forward with petey and boes or with horvat to form a shut down line?

Mikheyev is the perfect counterpart for Petey IMO. If he's played on the left side, his goal pace would likely go down but he could focus on puck retrieval with Petey and Pods continuing their chemistry and we might see a big assist season from him. Or play him on Petey's right side with Kuzie on the left, and Mikheyev can be what Burrows was to the Sedins IMO.

would you trade miller and garland to NJ for bratt, mcleod, severson, mukhamidullan and a first.?
-
i might be totally wrong and i hope i am but i thought i detected some tension between JTM and EP. after JT goals EP would touch his arm but no real show of emotion. anyone else notice that?

@Timråfan Hey, there are two of us now so my job just got alot tougher. I have to learn another brand new personality now.
-
are there odds on whether JT resigns here or gets moved?
-
hey mudge, how was tommy mah's last name spelled ans what was his son's name? hope your enjoying the silly season. cheers lad.
-
Tommy's last name was MAH and his son, who would now be 71, was Geoffrey. I know there was a baby brother or sister, who would be around 66-67.
I am enjoying the off-season but sure am tired of JT Miller trade talk. What most on CDC don't seem to understand is that there is absolutely no pressure to move your top scorer who is cost controlled for one more year. If Miller slumps to 60-70 points, then maybe talks could get serious, but next year is the key: he either increases his value or he doesn't.
Hope the off season is going well for you. Take care.

collin deliafirst player on canucks, born in cucamunga, california. i think JR said that joshua would be playing on the canucks next year. he was on donnie and dhali this morning.
-
Yeah, Allvin also said that he envisions Dakota Joshua on the roster too. Dakota Joshua did sign a 1 way contract. It sounds like Lazar and Joshua will make up 2/3 of the 4th line. There will be competition to fill the last part of that line.
Colin D'Elia is going to be in competition with Spencer Martin for the backup spot. I think Spencer Martin is going to win out because he will have a year of working with Ian Clark by the time training camp opens and Martin impressed last season in his games with the Canucks last season. Colin D'Elia as the 1A in Abby mentoring Silovs is good and D'Elia has experience with Jeremy Colliton since he was a goalie for Colliton in both Rockford and Chicago when Colliton was coaching in that organization.
Also if D'Elia does win the backup job, I believe Demko/D'Elia will be the first California born goalie tandem in the NHL.

pittsburgh signed rd jan rutta, could a deal for marino for garland be in the works?
-
Good call @smithers joe
A guest on 650 right now, who is a Pittsburgh hockey writer, is saying exactly that. Might be a bigger deal involving both Marino and Kapanen.
-
-
according to freidman, canucks close to signing andrew brunette as a asisstant coach. no players.
-
nj has a lot of rd prospects. it would be great to get a couple.
mukhamadullin and a 6'5" swedish d-man.
-
why was JB let go again? he couldn't fix the defense either.
sandpaper, speed, younger.

@Dekey Pete It wasn’t just hitching his cart to the Green horse but the Willie horse as well. Assembling a good core doesn’t mean much if they don’t develop. Before Coach Bruce got here (old man JR took all of like less than a month to hire him lol), guys like EP and Boeser were stagnanting. Only Hughes seemed to get better regardless of who was behind the bench. You can’t waste ELC contract years of these star players by putting a guy bench the bench that isn’t ready or will never be ready.
-
sort of JBish so far. i was hoping for fireworks.

kakko anyone?
