  1. Will Yakupov ever return to the NHL?

Nope. He's gone. Unless he miraculously becomes a significantly better hockey player.

Well I mean KHL is not a bad alternative..  better than the AHL or something.

It must suck being 1st overall and not meeting expectations.

    4. SabreFan1

      SabreFan1

The AHL only sucks if you're a veteran player who has a low chance of being called up.  That would be Yakupov.

  2. Anybody remember Kabanov of the islanders? lol..

  3. Ever have a dream within a dream? I recently dreamt something traumatic and then woke up, but I was still dreaming waking up lol.. Really odd

That’s very cool.  Whether they are good, bad, or (in your case) dreams within dreams ... Dreams are fun.

      drummer4now

Yeah it was the first time it happened, and it wasn’t a lucid dream either because I wasn’t in control.

Probably the worst dream I’ve had is the one that caused sleep paralysis. I couldn’t move or open my eyes for a couple of minutes.

    3. Undrafted

      Undrafted

I've had it happen a couple of times (which is still pretty rare).  Both times, when I "woke up" the first time, I wasn't sleeping in the time/place where I was actually sleeping in reality, but in the dream that I "woke up" in, it all made sense.

That said, I don't remember the first dreams being that traumatic at all--just "regular" dreams (or as regular as dreams can be)

  4. I have a month off work, and I would like to travel to one of the four countries listed below. Where should I go?

    1) Egypt

    2) Russia

    3) Germany

    4) Australia.

    Thanks.

^ The problem I have with Germany is the value of the Euro in comparison to the Canadian dollar. Australia is nice that the currency is relatively equal to Canada and I believe NZ is less.

The Russia Rubble and Egyptian Pound are dirt cheap.

I will have to check the weather before travelling to Russia or Egypt I don't want to make the same mistake when I travelled to Australia.

But yeah thanks for all the suggestions.

Ooops, it was PIA who had it tested:

      https://torrentfreak.com/vpn-providers-no-logging-claims-tested-in-fbi-case-160312/

I'm a little uncomfortable with PIA being a USA based company with the garbage going on down there re: Net Neutrality though.  NordVPN is based in Panama.

  9. Immortality on earth or Billions of Dollars or eternity in heaven (if it exists and is considered the ultimate paradise as according to the bible)?

      -AJ-

@VanGnome You're talking about invincibility. To me, immortality means that you will never die by natural causes. Your body will never wear out, but you're not invincible.

    3. VanGnome

      VanGnome

@-AJ- think Highlander. Guy can get mauled, impaled, poisoned, run over by a car etc and he'll always "come back to life". Short of having his head cut off, there's nothing that can kill him. Of course if you find yourself in the unfortunate situation of being in the blast radius of a massive bomb it's possible you could be completely dismembered but that's a pretty low probability occurrence.

Invincibility is just that things don't harm you physically, ie Luke Cage. He still ages, and the character likely would die from old age.

    4. drummer4now

      drummer4now

IMO immortality on earth would be better because its physical and heaven is spiritual.

The only benefit of heaven would be not having to worry about sickness or physical pain and the burdens of life like money etc.. but if you have money and are immortal then its no issue I guess as long as you stay healthy, etc...

  13. Is it safe to say Vancouver will never win a cup in 2-5 years? or longer?

Worst luck in sports right now..

Even the bloody Golden Knights made to the finals in their inaugural season lol..

      stonecoldstevebernier

On the longer end of 2-5 years, maybe. All depends on how our best prospects pan out, and if some of our mid round guys can surprise. You get Boeser, Pettersson, Horvat, Gaudette, Juolevi, Dahlen, this year's pick all performing at a high level and then you're talking... but not everyone will reach the potential we label them with.

"Both Las Vegas and Seattle may have cups before the Canucks with the gifted expansion rules."

Sad part of it is, the city of Seattle has also seen their team win the Stanley Cup actually more recently than Vancouver.

      he is an ageless wonder

      still at 18

he has the keys to the fountain of youth

they need to sign him to an 8 x 8 contract
and that big deal can anchor the lames

in cap hell for the next decade

    4. King Heffy

      King Heffy

Calgary's not exactly the best place for anyone to develop.  The city is an absolute dump and the hockey team considers a subhuman pile of garbage in Tkachuk to be a respectable player.  How the hell can a kid figure out how to be a professional when he sees Tkachuk being allowed to completely disgrace the sport on a nightly basis?

Bennett needs to go to an actual NHL team with real leadership.

Last time I checked, tax was 39 cents a litre.

Also, dilbit exports aren't related to gasoline prices. We need more Canadian refineries.

    We need a new building..

  23. Are the Oilers this bad? or they tanking once again?

The worst part of it all is even if they blew up the whole team they would be doing the same thing as now... tanking and getting high draft picks.

Theyre noticeably better than last year and they'd be doing a lot better if they still had McJesus. I dont really know what people expected, last in the league to into the playoffs in the span of one season? Its going to take time. They have the management to do it now, at least.

    3. Ghostsof1915

      Ghostsof1915

This is why tanking is not a good idea. When teams get into the tailspin of losing, and they don't seem to get out. You want a culture of at least trying to win every game.

    4. Warhippy

      Warhippy

It's obvious what the Oilers are doing without McJesus.  If they start succeeding Chiarelli will find that top D man they need and shore up the blue line.  If they don't Chiarelli will sit on what he has ship out contracts for picks and simply draft heavy D in June.

Barring that and a 1st overall again draft Matthews and use RNH and Yakupov to trade for those top D men they want.  either way Chiarelli cannot, like literally cannot go wrong his first year.

Lose and draft Matthews or Chychrun, trade for D.  Win, trade non essential pieces for D and draft D.  He already has his prize and imagine a 1-2-3 of McJesus Matthews Draisatl or a 1-2 of Chychrun and Nurse....
