overheard two women talking in the lab. "I wouldn't marry, let alone date, a guy who isn't 6 feet. At least 5'11 that's the lowest I'll go."

@RRypien37 Jesus 4000 calories a day? Meh, i don't think I can take all that in but 2500 calories wouldn't be out of reach for me. Intaking my carbs while cutting down on the sugar and upping my fat and protein in those 2500 calories will do.

@Odd. Have to be willing to do what it takes our else can't complain that you can't gain weight

Guys what is a good song to listen to for motivation?

If Noah Hanifin were playing in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, would that make him any less alluring a defenseman?

When you go out and say things like you would only play for certain teams (I'm not making any nods to Demko right now, because nothing has been said in those terms, and the situation right now seems to be quite similar to the Jordan Subban one) that starts to raise issues about your character and attitude, not just about your play and if you can compete. That starts to bleed into high level pressure and mental toughness, as well as psychological skills training and reasons why you would not consider playing your best in any and all situations - if he didn't get the contract that he wanted and just took the offer that came to him.
-
@S N Y P E R S 7 You mean in Van or in the league overall? The way the league is so competitive every year, and with how the draft is becoming the new TDL and whatnot, I'd imagine teams would be willing to gamble a contract spot on someone that shows promise.
I mean if guys like Kassian can get more chances in this league...

When is Jordan Subban gonna sign on the dotted line?

Broberg's skating on full display today at the U18s, Soderstrom's decision-making and responsibility on display too. While Soda isn't as dynamic a skater, his all around game is much better. Depends on what you want - an elite offensive guy in Broberg, or someone who can play D, chip in offensively, and do everything well but not one thing to an outstanding degree.

One complaint scouts have on Broberg is despite his offensive skills, he often lacks decision making in his own zone and is prone to turnovers. Reminds me when Luca Sbisa was first touted in his draft year in 08, good offensive skills but has issues exiting his own zone. Soderstrom on the other hand is far more superior in that area, but doesn't have offensive flare like Broberg.
Considering that moving the puck and making decisions in the defensive zone is what has hampered us for a while, I'm more inclined to go the safer pick and take Soderstrom. He may be small, but Craig Button and Cam Robinson scouts on Vancouver Radio have said that Soderstrom plays bigger than his actual size and is far more engaged in his own zone than Broberg is.

What would the Canucks be able to get back in a Tanner Pearson trade?
-
Pierre-Luc Dubois is going to be an elite winger. Last time I checked the Canucks were pretty shallow on the left side. Last time I checked was right after the trade-that-shall-not-be-named. The gremlin trade.

@ShakyWalton I think he's slated to go 4th now.

Should I send the letter? All I need to do is finalize my prospect list (+ why the Canucks should draft them) and take my letter to the business center, and then... it's off to Mr. Linden... I want to do it because of all the support I've gotten from people on CDC. I will try and speak on all of your behalf. If there is anything you'd like to say, tell me.

Anyone with glasses wanna share some light (I'm a noob) on how to clean smudges off?

got some advice from a friend at EP: be careful what you write on forums, GMs could be watching. OKAY JIM BENNING. I KNOW YOU'RE HERE. EXPOSE YOURSELF

Tim Thomas. What does this name mean nowadays?

tank or soar in 15-16?

Dante Fabbro, Kale Clague, Victor Mete... so good. Fabbro's probably the most intriguing right now.

Best thing about the CSS rankings? I heard of a player I'd never heard of before: Yushiroh Hirano.

Got talking to an NHL scout today over Skype, minutes turned into hours; thinks Cam Morrison will go in the first round of the draft, might make it to the second. If he makes it to the second, he might just be the most valuable player available. Complete package: size, compete, skill, and character. Currently playing at the U18s, so keep an eye on him there.

7 Round Mock Draft (they had a lot of players missing from the list to choose from... my list has expanded to about 700 players, so of course I wasn't very happy with the selection. Whatever) - also note that this is an older format, so team draft spots are different. http://www.draftsite.com/mydraftsite/CurJoe45/nhl/mock-draft/2015/

The Canucks are going to win the NHL Draft Lottery tomorrow.

@Gstank29
How so? -
Big powerful player who uses his size to protect the puck. He has a shot first mentionality and like Virtanen, and has a quick heavy shot. As far as his Vision goes he seems to be more patient with the puck and looks to make plays (that one play in the WJC really stands out) his assist totals, IMO have nothing to do with his hockey IQ/vision but is more an indication of the fact that his line mates look to feed him the puck in high percentage areas.
The only real difference that i've seen is that Virtanen has an explosive first two steps with Gauthier doesn't

Gonna get up at 5AM to tune in to the Trade Deadline!

I can just see Boeser's signing window being the same as Demko's and Subban's. Stressful.
Who's watching the U18s today?!- Show previous comments 4 more

I think Chych's trying to do a little too much. He just needs to simplify his game and stop bearing it upon himself to get everything done in all three zones.
What I see from Chychrun is a little bit of hesitation (and then irrational action) strong-rooted in the fact that he doesn't know the guys around him that well, and therefore he doesn't trust them as much? He isn't making the players around him better, but I think he has the potential to do that. -
d-men take longer to develop but unless your positive chychrun is going to be a top pairing d-man then i'ld go for a d-man in the second round....if we get a chance to get a #1 line forward, my choice would be to go that route...with boeser, horvat, virtanen, rodin, baertschi and mccann, laine would fit so nice.....even tkachuk or dubois...both could be at least 2nd line players...
i would like to see benning pick up a d-man with nhl experience...

I need some help on a paper, and I think this is the right place to get a lot of ideas: Why do players participating in any sport commit acts of unsportsmanlike nature?

Anyone want to give me their guess as to where the Canucks will finish come the end of the season, and in which place they will draft? Anybody hoping to lose a few games to get a higher pick?
