I don't entirely blame them. We've a history of being bridesmaids.
-AJ-
Probably to challenge Biega for the #6 spot, unless I'm underselling him.

Not sure it's a lack of faith in Jim. More a Blackhawks > Canucks situation.

Would he not be more of a guy who will be what he is, and not expected to make big improvements like a prospect would? Considering he's totally unproven in the NHL? Yeah, I consider him a prospect. Dr. Crossbar
Nice signing! I think the key is "NHL ready." Like someone else mentioned earlier, looks like it evens out the loss of Tryamkin.

Hopefully this is the year he finally turns the corner and brings his game consistently. If he did so, he'd easily replace Sbisa as he brings more to the table. He has all the tools to develop into a really solid 3rd pairing D.

He's a good #7 depth signing and you know how injury prone our team is. Alex can play D or F, so there's a bargain right there. Just now, NUCKER67 said: Something's gotta give? Tystick
If Holm can handle the NHL pace, Holm - Tanev could be a really good shutdown pairing IMO.

Edler will either be trade or leave in 2018/19. Tanev could also be traded at some point while his value is high. Guys like Sautner, Billins, Cederholm and Candealla may never play for the Canucks. Sbisa may get picked up by Vegas. I think the re-signing of Pedan is to replace Tryamkin. In 2 years? (if JB doesn't draft another D first this year) Hutton - Gudbranson Juolevi - Stecher Pedan - Subban Holm Brisebois
