Sam Rosen - play by play and Joe Micheletti - colour Dave Maloney (panelist) featured Pettersson in the pregame show (according to Micheletti later) Matchup of Swedish pair Elias Petterson and Lias Andersson was the intro conversation. They gush about Pettersson. 1st period: Talk of speed and talent of the Canucks, that they are surprising people at top of Pacific division and top of league scoring, without "outstanding" Brock Boeser. Micheletti says "this is just like the Canucks, they are a hardworking team and even often give up the first goal but it doesn't bother them" after Vancouver sustains heavy forecheck pressure. They talk of how well the Nux are doing with key guys being injured effecting all areas of play . They mention Horvat in good terms..."workhouse" in face of injuries and living up to it...40 faceoffs the other night. They mention Gaudette in good terms. A sponsored ad/feature called "Peak Performer" - Elias Pettersson was honoured and they lauded the feat of 10 goals in 10 games as rookie. 2nd period: Micheletti: "Is he 19 or 20 or is he 9 or 10...boy-oh-boy" after lauding a Dekey-Pete defensive puck capture and subsequent shot on goal. They shined Petey again on the very next play. Props given to Virtanen's performance as of late. Micheletti once again praises Canucks style of play, fast and hardworking...says "sure can see why they are doing so well". Micheletti praises Ericksson "he is a solid two way player" (after a defensive play coming out of the penalty box). There was really nothing to mention regarding the Canucks in the 3rd period. Overall, they mentioned Vancouver's players often and there was no shade thrown Canucks way...if anything they were complimentary of the Canucks team and coach Green. Pettersson going through a bit of a slump and since the Colorado game has 2 points in 4 games. Held pointless last two games. Will be good to see how he battles back tomorrow against the Islanders.
