Columbus had chants about Tortorella today.

Can we stop pretending we're the only market that does this?

lol.. the tortorella chant was cheering him and thanking him... you can hate him all you want.. but he turned the bluejacket into a beast the first couple of years.. and won the jack adam once and nominated another time.

Definitely Green first,Benning has at least assembled decent talent. A few missteps on the cap front though and keeping a few players too long.

True that :P

Jimbo came to the Canucks with old vets with no trade clauses and a Owner who just wanted a retool. = waisted time and losing draft picks on bandaid players.

This was not a season to make justified solid judgements, no preseason, too many games at start of season( more games played then anyother team in the first month) , losing Petey , then the Covid.
wheres the stable season to make a clear judgment?

on the plus side is a top draft pick and high picks in each round that helps the future.

the youth Jimbo assembled is the future it needs to mature. Unfortunately the Canuck fans are immature and are unable to growup.

on to the draft and a better next season.

That's one of the smartest observations I've seen on these boards lately...

And when our window opens, it will stay open for awhile, not just a one time good run to the big dance and pretty sure that's the case and I'm betting there's going to be a LOT of people eating crow soon... you know, bandwagoner fans and media alike, same old b.s. as in the last 40 years, old hat..  blah..  like watching lil kids in a play ground really, painful but laughable too.. lol  funny but Dumb and Dumber come to mind.. oh well

Sekeres? Omg even the other media poke fun at him and don't put much stock in much of anything he says, I thought this was common knowledge actually.. He says a lot of things without thinking it through and no  getting how the big picture in Vancouver has been since the franchise started and ended up being what it was like and why, plus it will continue if the farm keeps getting sold for a single cup run to try and "win it all now"

How has that worked out for us so far?

Sekeres know _hit! don't kid yourself, guys like him have Been a dime a dozen to come and go since 74 and I've been watching all this time so I know, it's been obvious..

Well, missing the play off this year wasn’t smart.
The reason for that was that Benning spends every cap dollar he can.

we all know that the window opens after Loui/Luongo is off the books but why sabotage the years before?

Sekeres chimed in JT Miller was a bad trade... only a complete fool would have thought that then or now and look how many jumped on that boat only to end up eating crow after JT kept up to Petey in the nux scoring derby last year. Sekeres, just one of our local idiot media, not like there's a shortage or fans who follow them like blind sheep...

I'd take a wild guess and suggest covid and a compressed schedule may have played a tiny part....

..and yes, Benning does spend up to the cap. As this team normally does. And most do. Keen observation.

What, are you leaving? Well, bye then.

Yep, I'll be leaving right after the firings, having a pleasant summer and looking forward to some hope next season, rather than another year of the same old - same old results (which some people are "Content" with !)

ummm did you forget we only lost our star player? new guys coming in to learn our systems, learn the playing style of who their put with, young guys still gaining experience, and still the best yet to come since we're so close to being done since most of our spots are actually taken and locked up "for a change" ish, we've been a turnstile team for the most part up to now and we still have to be, in a sense as far as D and bottom 6 is concerned, I don't know why media and fans who follow them are freaking out.. I doubt there many GM's who could have done a lot better with the crap team we had with so many spots opening up at different times each year so the best we could do was wait it out and that's almost done, less Edler but he might be signed on a cheap 1 yr deal in case our new younger D doesn't gel as fast as needed. Wish people would just let the process finish and then judge it, but whatever lol guess some have nothing better to do... idk

Green should go not matter if JB leaves or not, just look at Greens winning record since AHL etc. he aint a top coach just mediocre.
