Benning is bad at constructing a good D corp. We get rid of Tanev and we keep hiring weak defenders to somehow replace him. We should have kept Tanev and added someone like Larsson or Savard to the group. Instead we are fiddling with Poolman, Schenn, Boroughs etc. We already knew Myers was a liability and Benning just keeps adding more liability to our defense. We dont have any good defensive dman.

Bingo.

In the show guys need to play their roles.

There are no bad hockey players in the show.

But when Myers and Poolamn are in your top four, say goodnight.

This season is going to go one of two ways.  If we do well, we won't be making any significant additions.  If we are out of the playoff picture, coaching will be fired and guys like Miller, Hamonic and Halak will be dangled to see what we can get.

Benning's not trading the 1st round pick this year.  He hasn't done any panic moves to save his job before, so don't expect him to start now.

J.B. made the summer trade for the core players. The core players did not return the favour. J.B. does not owe them anymore.

Green proving he can only get his team

to play hard for one or two games in a row.

I’ve been saying this for years. This team has to work so much harder than the opposition to get results. That equals the team looking burnt out every few games.

Green has been running a short bench most games as well.

All the roster changes were meant for using four lines to avoid

the west coast fatigue {plus covid/vaxx avdverse effects}. You would think a new contract for Green would have kept him on the roll four lines plan.

Did you watch him play earlier in the season? He's an unfinished project. He needs to refine his defensive skills. His offence is fine.

Yeah he is a rookie that hasn't gotten much of a chance of course he will be an unfinished product.

The Canucks could use his skating ability right about now. Other than Hughes there is nobody in the organization who can skate the puck out of trouble.

They are very weak on the left side of the d core.

Besides Rathbone they don't have great options right now in the organization.

Maybe Benning makes a trade for a veteran rental who can play on that third pair like Calvin DeHaan.

Until then I would like to see Rathbone get some run.

They are down big he is one of the few offensively inclined d that they have.

Time to give him and Hughes the green light to join and lead rushes.
