Is it time to Replace Halak with a Proper BU Goalie after Losing Every game this year?

Recommended Posts

While our skaters are struggling to gain their stride, enormous pressures have shifted onto our Goalies, and while Demko has certainly done his part to win & steal some games for us, he can't do it all by himself.  That is why Halak was brought in here - to provide some down-time and relief for Demko - yet he has failed to win a single game this year after playing in 6 games (5 of which starts).

Q: If we can't depend on Halak to at least win a few games, shouldn't Jim B recognize this and TERMINATE Halak and Replace him with a proper BU goalie immediately?

it's clear that you're not even watching the games. or do you expect halak to score goals as well?

if you base your opinion on boxscores you found on NHL.com, then pls just leave the discussion of the team to others, you know, the ones who actually watch the games and know that:

Halak has kept us in most games he’s played for us. He has a .910 save percentage (higher than Demko) and lets in an average of 2.85 goals per game (also better than Demko). In those 6 games he’s played for us we’ve scored a grand total of 7 goals or an average of 1.17 goals per game.

Halak isn’t the reason for the losses.

i wish i had your self-confidence though: every thread you open is borderline moronic, you're doing nothing but spewing negativity, yet you still continue to do them.

Heres the steps we need to take right now.

1) Hire someone to oversee the hockey area of the business

2) Have this person fire green and benning and replace them with damn near anyone

3) The new gm and coach can use this season to evaluate the teams needs and make trades as necessary at the deadline or after the season.

To talk about replacing any players before step one and two are done would be insane right now. Especially trading a goalie, that is nowhere near our biggest area of concern and unless theres a grand slam of a trade i want nothing to do with trading either right now.

Halak has been fine. But you're right actually, there is a problem. The problem is that he's suffering the same fate Holtby did last season, the team barely gives him any run support. We haven't won many games this year, we have trouble scoring, but for whatever reason this team doesn't score more than maybe a couple goals a game when Halak is in net.

When your margin for error is so small because the team can't score, and when a team's PK is as garbage as ours has been this season, yeah.. it's gonna impact your ability to win games.

Is it time to replace the fans?

Maybe the reason the Canucks are having a poor season has nothing to do with the players nor the coaches nor management - maybe it's the negative fan base - change that and maybe the Canucks start winning!
