My first thought: Add this trade to the looooooong list of projects players over the past ten years that were hopeful, but didn't work out. Maybe this time will be different? This time it didn’t cost us anything significant though.  This time we actually have a farm team close to home to develop these guys too.  Completely different circumstances. Odd.
What’s interesting is that he’s put up similar numbers to Panarin in the KHL around the same age.

Ghostsof1915
It's a low risk, high reward type of move. Lockwood and a 7th isn't going to kill the team. 1

Let's hope so, no one is not saying it's a low return it's just we keep acquiring wingers. Why the need for so many wingers? There must be players going out before the deadline.

I’ll give Raty some more slack since he’s only 20, but each of those 3 guys don’t appear to have the offensive potential to form a second line to me. Need to see signs of it fairly soon or I think its kinda fantasyland thinking.

NYR is going all in on Kane.  Benning could have chosen to use his cap space for deals like this rather than going all in on UFAs.  Even if you aren't sold on management it's great to see us leveraging cap space as a weapon.  I get it, Rangers are trying to clear some room for Kane.  Still, they were still looking for -something- back for Kravstov and I doubt Allvin was looking to give away Lockwood.  I’m happy their taking a big cut here while up in the count but I don’t see Lockwood as a zero value piece. Cup_Joneser
I like this trade for a few reasons. Â It's the right price, players like Lockwood are easily replaced and it allows Atu or maybe even Dries to head back to the AHL

You're kidding right? They haven't shown it in the NHL yet, but all 3 of them have shown offensive prowess at various levels. That's why 2 of the 3 were top 10 picks, and the other was at one point slated to go 1st oa. Popular Post Odd.
Rangers fans becoming a little unhinged on HF.  There’s an ongoing joke that he’s a Russian Gretzky and is the best prospect since McDavid. Here’s a fun post made just now:  One of the few players who truly appreciates the aesthetics of the sport and aims not only to win games, but to provide a beautiful visual experience to fans. Watch him in slow motion and it’s truly mesmerizing. His skates melt through the top layer of ice like a knife through butter, crossovers with the grace of ballet on ice; his wavy dirty blonde locs flowing in the wind behind him are just the icing on the cake. He's a true marvel to watch. Kravtsov studies the game, he actually did college courses on sports management and coaching; when he’s out there he isn’t simply a player. Players have become a cog in the wheel, nobody has revolutionized the sport since Patrick Roy with the Butterfly; but Kravtsov is the next revolution in hockey. He is crafting a performance art, all of the drama surrounding him is part of his theatrical nature and will build up into his redemption arc. He has already strategized his entire career with the precision of a Machiavellian genius. Most NHL players play checkers, the McDavids & MacKinnons play chess, Gretzky played 4D chess; Kravtsov plays underwater Madden NFL '06. He takes cues from Elizabethan theatre but with a veneer of the early wave of post-modern satirist playwrites, if you’ve ever dove into Anton Chekhov’s early works some of Kravtsov’s plays will start making a little more sense. Through the eyes of a modern day hockey fan they might not "get" Kravtsov yet, but in the future when stats become advanced enough they'll be able to pin down exactly what it was that made him so special. In a few hundred years his game tape will be in museums, and I'm not talking in the HoF, I'm talking in the Louvre. Kravtsov is bigger than hockey. Gretzky may have been "The Great One", but Kravtsov is "The Chosen One    7 1

I think that’s a little debatable… the point however is that there’s no guarantee these guys turn out how we think they may.  I’m pretty confident Podz will be a top six player based on what we’ve seen from him. Other two… jury is out.
