Always good to touch up on your hockey history! Otto kicked the puck in during game 7 OT of the first round of the 1989 playoff featuring the Canucks vs the Flames. Would've been an enormous upset victory if Vancouver won that series. Flames went on to win the 1989 Stanley Cup.

When we go years without prospects and depth we cry for it, now we have it and media and fans alike suggest its time to move the surplus haha.

The surplus so you can add NHL talent to push for contention because the future looks bright. Listening to 650 some think the Canucks are literally a Panarin/Karlsson way from contending.

Our post season schedule looks pretty open for the next few years

The venues for 2019 to 2022 have already been announced.  It's decided 4 to 5 years in advance.  It's also unlikely that the NHL would want the event to take place in North America with the playoffs underway.

Canada did host.  It was in Quebec and Halifax a few years back.  There was no risk of conflict from NHL teams making a deep playoff run there.

So just cut to the chase, & stick a fork in him?!

Well I was just trying to give an example that was a "local example" but my point still stands even if the example wasn't a great one.

Boeser will tally 30+ more points than Barzal. And this is if they're both healthy. 

Its scary to think that there are now fans that never got to watch Gretzky play, isn't it?

Gretzky in his prime could have had a bunch of those cardboard cutouts for teammates and I'm sure he'd still find a way to have a 120pt season.

It's also been 17 years since he's played. Maybe get on with life and enjoy the new crop of young talent.

i think there are two sides of the story. I don't entirely believe Weekes' side of the story - no evidence of damage, but for Crawford to go all out on him says something.

Maybe Weekes didn't want to be in Vancouver.

I think I will check this book out. My favourite Burke story was the time he was driving and doing a radio hit with Dan Russell during the heyday of Sportstalk.  He pulled over to stop a fight on the street.

They say Quick might be done for the whole season too. 

Apparently he's been over used according to their board.

And might be done done even.

The sad part is the loss of Luc Bourdon really set the team back. If he never had the accident not only did we lose a great person, but he left a void in defence that the team never really filled. 

Ballard during his time here was probably the worst I've ever seen an athlete play in any sport ever.  He struggled that badly.  Just an absolute train wreck every time he was on the ice, had zero idea where to be and who to cover.  I've watched the team since the early 90's and he had nothing on Murzyn, Ciccone, or any other defensemen that fans occasionally mock. 

@Tre Mac Murzyn may have been a slow skater, but you always got an honest effort. But Ballard, yikes.
