  1. America has been at war for 222 out of 239 years since 1776. Whoa.

UK , France , Germany, Russia. If you want to back farther Roman ,Greek,Chinese and Egyptian plus many many other civilizations have been based around war.

^But at that high of a percentage?

    4. Dr.Strangelove

      Dr.Strangelove

No idea what the percentage overall would be but looking at any given period of 250 years then yes. This depends on your opinion of what constitutes being at war however. Consider that during the same time frame 1776-2015 England was involved in wars constantly from 1776-1923 and 1936- present.

I always take things like Pataks or Thai curry paste as a starter (if I use them at all), then add fresh spices and aromatics on top of it. Though you've linking the dry spice packs instead of the jars, that's probably a good thing as I find the jars to have odd flavours. Especially the madras; it has quite a funny taste.

Especially with the Thai curry paste. You add some fresh galangal, lime leaf, lemongrass, and chili to a spoon of prepared paste and you're eating like a king.

On the island there's a blended powder called Dickson's Curry Powder. It's usually somewhat strong on the turmeric and clove, but it's a great way to start a dish, then add whatever else you'd like to from there.

Pretty sure only people on the island know of this powder as the only place I've ever seen it is the 49th Parallel grocery stores, though it could easily be elsewhere.

Fairways has a solid selection of ethnic ingredients. Not sure if I've seen Dickson's, but they have an array of ingredients and sauce bases you can't find anywhere else

    4. Green Building

      Green Building

      Yeah that's true about Fairways.

Come to think of it, I think I've seen Dickson's in Country Grocer, but like 49th Parallel this would still be a mid-island thing.

Now I'm in Burnaby and ethnic anything is pritner everywhere.

I don't understand why people under 30 now are seemingly always looking for reasons not to date someone. Social media makes things weird maybe.

How about judging her on her own merits? try it out, maybe you'll actually have fun. Oh no a full figured blonde wants to get to know me :picard: I don't get it.

@Jimmy McGill I have nothing against her personally, and if something works, it works. But it's a similar principle (not the exact same, obviously) to why you wouldn't want to give your kid the same name as the person that bullied you in high school.

I guess its just the number of threads I've seen over the last couple of years from younger posters on CDC, there seems to be a lot of anxiety and discussion around just having a simple night out.

Nothing like a 2" thick baseball cut tenderloin qued up 3 minutes aside and left to sit for a few minutes...or a 12 oz. New York striploin...or a 12 oz. marbly rib-eye...or a 16 oz. porterhouse.  In case it isn't obvious, I love beef.

@ThrustyPrusty89 maybe! I was thinking more Iginla/Kipper, but it depends on what jersey I end up finding first :P

@Master Mind you just need to wait for the $30 deals

That depends on the people picking 1,2 and 3. If Toronto and Edmonton are Top 3 and we aren't we pick 4th. If one of them is in it we most likely pick 5. If both are out of it, we pick 6.

I'm not sure, I hadn't heard anything about it but I assume they'd have been affected as well. Apparently much of the city has power back (my house does), although not everyone does still.

@SabreFan1 There's one hospital located near downtown, but none in the heart of the city.
