what the heck is going on with Bob in Florida.

he was supposed to be a saviour to that team

but he is crapping the bed completely

Goaltending is one of the positions that signing long term deals don't usually pan out. 

Because so much of workload, and working with your defence matters. Rarely do you see guys like Brodeur that stay on top year after year. 

Even guys like Price, and Fleury, have good and mediocre seasons. 

You can struggle for 2 years, then bam, you get a Vezina Trophy year.

actually with the lack of taxes in Florida, it's almost twice as bad.. 

 

lots of 'new' down there with the Pants tho, and lots of hockey left, so let's not rank him on par with Ellie just yet

Luongo was notorious for having slow starts and would turn it on from November on when he was here. I'd wait for the season to play out. Florida still has a decent record despite his numbers so far so if he picks it up, they will be that much better.
