ShawnAntoski
Congrats and thanks to Tanev ! I wasnt really keen on an aging Tanev and would prefer to sign TT. Very interested to see how JB will fill the hole; preferably, one/two of our prospects will end these rumors Edited October 10, 2020 by ShawnAntoski
cube`
Could give us a shot at Hamonic if Tanev is indeed signing in CGY. 1 1
PhillipBlunt
The one thing I don’t get is why either player would go to a team that proved to be less of a contender than Vancouver. 1 1
Popular Post Gaudette Celly
What happened to all those complaining about Tanev being injured all the time and that we had to ditch him? And if we're going to improve the D, how do we do that if we bring back the same players? 8 2
Oregon.Duck
Chances of us going all in on Pietrangelo? Lol. As of now we are not better than we were last year.

Where are jimbo's backers tonight??? You're really crying about a guy with boneitis getting paid too much? By all means. We have kids I wanna see play anyway. Crying about anchor contracts as a player leaves to sign a anchor contract. Marvellous. I'd be surprised if Tanev lands in Calgary without injuring himself. 1 2

He is getting older and extremely injury prone. Sad to see him leave but happy the Canucks did not bite on the 4 year term. Good luck Tanev! Actually agree with you on this one. As much as it hurts from a sentimental perspective, having both Tanev and Myers locked in for another four years on the wrong side of 30 doesn't leave a ton of flexibility to improve the RHD position long-term. This also makes it slightly easier to bring back Stecher if they want. 4 3

Very few teams can compete with Calgary's vacation package. The down side is having to live in that dump during the season.

Much worse actually. At least if we sign Toffoli we can be good offensively, because right now our D is looking pretty thin.

As of right now we're significantly worse than we were last year. A downgrade in goaltending and our best defensive Dman gone. Not to mention Stetcher wasn't chopped liver either. Wonder if we'll circle back to Stetcher now that Tenev is gone?

I like / respect the two of them, but i understand the contract issues / what needs to happen now and moving forward for this team. Lumping those two together is apples and oranges. Markstrom made sense to let go, especially at that term and with a NMC. Tanev needed to be re-signed imo. Our defense was already suspect and without Tanev it’s downright scary. 1 1 2

All sign points to a 4 year contract for Barrie coming up. Yup, been figuring much of the day that we'd see Tanev replaced with Barrie. If the Canucks really wanted him back they would have reached out before today. He became simply a contingency -- they have their eyes on someone(s) else. Jimbo determines who he wants, and goes out and usually get him.

Doesn't matter. Everyone knew at the time 6x6 for Louie was ridiculous. Now we're watching key members of this team walk away for nothing. We sat through a 7 year rebuild for what? To watch the contributing members of this team walk so the plugs with their fat contracts stay? Our D was a problem in the playoffs, now look at it. Its completely dismantled. Signing a guy like Barrie over Tanev makes us worse. 3 2

Provost
Just a year more than we likely would have offered one would think. Tryamkin at $2 million would be looking pretty good now... maybe Stecher on the cheap. Looks like we are 0-3 for our three key UFAs
