Yep, me too. I'm still wearing mine, it's second nature. Back to Heffy's point I think we should be back on restriction at the end of Sept - Oct close to flu season when our guard will down and it will hit back hard. Two to three weeks of discipline will hopefully stunt it into submission. Or would that not be a useful precautionary tactic? I'm not a doctor or prognosticator at all.

Unfortunately people cant seem to accept restrictions when things are going bad, let alone trying to get people to be happy about preventing it from getting there in the first place. I myself would be ok if the restrictions kept going until the end of the year to make sure we get rid of it for good. I still gotta wear a mask at work and i still do when i go shopping. Its really not a big deal

Keep it up Canada. The US is doomed. We have people going on Fox news saying that vaccinated people are shedding spike proteins and are harmful to people :picard:

NYC is pretty much opened. But I ain't hanging out indoors without my N95 unless it's a place that check vaccination record or Covid test results.

not looking forward to tomorrow in the UK.

I get we have to open up fully at some point but we pretty much are back to business as usual apart from a few sectors.

but in the middle of a new wave with rising hospitalisation, yeah good luck. Plus all the English running out to book holidays because we have moved a few countries into the green list will likely find that we are going to have to do length isolations on the other end anyway, especially if our cases get even more out of control.

also if anyone is interested with our vaccination figures the link above has it split out by total, country, uptake and a few other interesting figures

Knowing Fox News I imagine that spun in a seriously conspiratorial way,

however just because you are jabbed or double jabbed doesn’t make you not able to carry/transmit the virus so there will be a kernel of truth in that comment just not in the way they presented it

"Three unvaccinated women, 62, 68, and 74, all ended up in an Arkansas hospital with COVID. “Yet despite their ordeals, none of them changed their minds about getting vaccinated. ‘It’s just too new,’ Mrs. Billigmeier said. ‘It is like an experiment.’”

Markets very upset with Covid resurgence. Don't know whether I can handle another winter of Covid.

With (likely) close to 90% of Canadians vaccinated won’t Covid be way less serious for those who do catch it?  Providing they are in the 90%.  We will still see antivaxxers in hospital, suffering, and dying, but for the rest of us we will be living our lives pretty much normally.

Canada has done well in getting people vaccinated.  The daily new cases Canada wide is under 500/day.  The 7 day avg is around 300.

I think the Covid-19 resurgence in the USA is the main driver for the markets reactions.

I also think Canada life will somewhat resume back to normal.  The difference will be the lack of supply from countries still struggling with Covid-19.

How do they prove they are fully vaccinated?

All I got as proof was a little paper card which I could knock off with a cheap printer in 5 minutes. Oh and a sticker that says I am vaccinated.

Without an electronic database this is ripe for fraud.

Australia and New Zealand really lagging behind their 1st world counterparts. Mongolia at 64% is impressive.

A map of the world with countries with the highest vaccination rates shaded darker

A few surprises there....

Chile, Uruguay....Cyprus and Bhutan look to be doing well too, although they don't show their percentages....

Africa in general is disappointing, although I suppose that could be issues with supply and distribution? Hopefully, the rest of the world steps in to help there. Really disappointing numbers from Japan and South Korea as well.

Right now, Iceland looks like the safest country on earth....

Back in the 60's we had to have our little yellow books with our vaccination history in them. Official looking stamps. Didn't think much about it. I suppose they could have been forged easily enough.

Well, we saw that JT hopes to have a system regarding Canadians and their vaccination status (from last month).  Hopefully

https://toronto.citynews.ca/2021/06/18/canada-national-vaccine-passports-trudeau/

There is also a system in New York called the Excelsior Pass which has been used by numerous public events to check vaccination status and is going to be mirrored in a number of states.

You can download the bc services app on your phone.  You then register and after approval it should have your vaccine history  (as well as other info) on the app

The app accesses Health Gateway.  I get a flu shot each year for the past few years and they are there as well.

Gotta say that I’m firmly against vaccine passports.

I say that as someone that is vaccinated.
