#1 is to find Quinn a legit partner. The team needs to 100% commit to building around Quinn, he's an incredible talent.

I always agree that we need to build from the net out. So, helping Quinn on the D side is reasonable

 

Of course we need to start thinking about replacing Sutter and Beagle as they are getting older. However, they are a big reason the Canucks have been able to get better each year. They are still a big part of this team and without them this team's goals against will rocket as our PK plummets. I was also referring to the dreamers here that still thin Gaudette is good enough to replace Sutter. Sutter is so much better than Gaudette in every aspect of the game. It is not even close

Yeah, this year seemed to had exposed alot about the team - this off season & trade deadline will be very important..

Oilers are peaking right now but they're on the end of a back-to-back so let's see if we can catch them tired at the end of the game. Big statement game for the Canucks, do we get back into a nice winning groove again and make a push or do we just resign ourselves and take another few steps back.

I was skeptical about Beagles contract until last season where we went a few games without him. Trust me, Beagle for all he does is worth the money despite stat sheet. The team was not the same as Beagles absence directly affected Bo Horvat's play

IMHO the game rests with the d-core. If they have a strong game the Canucks likely win. Credit due they have been playing better hockey for about 3 weeks. Hamonic and Meyers have been standouts. 

 

The odds are still stacked against making playoffs. The trade deadline is April 12th. Canucks should know well in advance whether they will have a post season. Frankly I am hoping they make a strong run but fall short. It will free JB up to move some vets for picks. Possibly enough CAP to acquire a UFA. If he can move some vets out then the roster can play prospects to finish the season.

Not sure what this years crop of UFAs are like as far as replacing Sutter...but do feel that Sutter has to be in the mix - for well replacing Sutter.   It makes a lot of sense to re-sign to play 3C next year, with the idea to use him as a medium term Beagle replacement.   The TT trade will sting if Madden makes it...we need to draft a C that can eventually replace Horvat soon, and another blue chip D, fortunately this years top ten is filled with D's and a couple C's....two years out which lines up well with Sutter ... The team for sure is going to need to spend their free agent money wisely the next two off-seasons..

Well it would’ve been exposed last season if not for the Vezina caliber goaltending from both Marky and Demko (hid slot of flaws).
