Hopefully this just boosts Schmidt’s price.

It might, but even so, who replaces Schmidt, as the team still needs help on D as it stands.

Without Schmidt, or a similar level player the Canuck D would get run out every game.

Didnt realize Edmonton’s owner was broke.

Think their owner is a Pharmacy guy, but their customer base maybe feeling the pinch.

Although the price of gas at my pump is going up so perhaps Alberta will get into a recovery.

oilers doing what oilers do best

Guys like McDavid, Draisatl, and Nuge are still going to be soft as hell without the puck.

Beautiful, Just Beautiful.

Just a over year ago, Carolina received a 1st to take one year of Marleau off the Maple Leafs' books. Edmonton here had to PAY to take $5.5 mil x 2yrs.

leaves Edmonton with a bit over $11.5 mill of space with 19 players signed.

3 RFA forwards to sign, or not

3 UFA forwards "                      "

4 UFA D men.  "                       "

They are also rumored to be buying out James Neal so that would give them another $3.5M or so.

According to DailyFaceoff’s and The Nation Network’s Frank Seravalli, James Neal is a prime buyout candidate for the Oilers this offseason

The more I think about it, I wonder if there is something else underlying with this trade.

Keith wants to be close to his son. Maybe Holland has made another agreement with Francis that the Krakheads take Keith and his salary to help reach the cap floor, but even if so, for what and why?

Maybe another deal between CHI and EDM post expansion draft that is in EDM’s favour?

Still trying to make sense of this.

Can not compute.

Brain hurting.

We'll be seeing a lot of Keith to McDavid, he shoots, scores, next season.  Wakey wakey Jim.

15 points in 54 games with Patty Kane, de Brincat and others in the lineup.

I don’t see a spike in points for McJeesus because Keith has been added to the Soiler lineup.

Dimjim did well to stay clear.

Maybe Jim isn't as dim as you think.
