Need both of course, but the Abbotsford team is really more for development than anything else. Learning how to be a pro, learning how to play the right way, learning how to win, and learning at looking at the finer details of the game. Unless they know for sure he’ll be getting top 6 minutes and top PP time. I didn’t think he’d beat out the top 4 wingers we had in Abbotsford so I was all for sending him down. Playing alongside the kids he's grown up with, against the best in the world would be a very valuable and rewarding couple of weeks. He would also get to enjoy his family and friends during the Xmas/New Year season. Let the kid play in his town for his home country during a world tournament ffs. Seems like a no brainer for him to up his game and get inspired. Not sure what you mean, Nux. Are you talking about the stress factor of playing at the Jrs? He sure didn't look stressed out last year at the U18s. Maybe playing against kids his own age would be a nice change for him instead of sitting on the bench in Abby and not being able to converse with his teammates.
