DownUndaCanuck
Week to week with a lower body injury, ouch, could be as long as Brock...
Fred65
This from another forum/TO fan Quote You'll be lucky to get 40 games out of Mikheyev, he's more year to year than week to week. Leafs treated him like gold, he was like glass.
kloubek
So according to Twitter, Mikheyev was thought to have possibly torn his ACL, but supposedly this is not the case. In fact, some are saying he should be back skating with the team in the next few days.

Soups will be great on the PK when he’s healthy. Relax folks he is signed for 3 more years after this one. Soups ??

Kobayashi Maru
Obviously he was just coming back from injury so there may be some lingering affects there, however he is such a great addition to our team from what I can see. Speed, drive and his obvious defensive ability makes him exactly what the doctor ordered for this team. He is in the mold of what we need more of on this team. Because of this, I think we have some options at the forward group to move that don't fit this new mold.
Bobby James
Yeah I agree. He'll take some games to get back into it, but overall should be a welcome addition to our team. A fast player who is strong defensively is definitely something we could use.
Hectic
Tough to look at this in retrospect and think of how we could have better spent that $4.75M on a serviceable D man....

I actually like the fit of Ilya on the team, but look at it in retrospect??? He should have never been signed..nor should Beoser have been resigned to anything more than a 1 year QO. PA & JR said rebuilding the defense was the number 1 priority. They then do nothing, outside of some 6-8th Dmen signings/trades. Then, they blow 19.4m on fwds with redundancy (end up having to sit a top 9 guy because you have too many). Maybe they thought they would be cute, and that would free up a fwd for trade in a deal. Well it didnt, and this team is 0-5-2 because of it; incompetency to the max! PA&JR are clowns! Edited October 25, 2022 by BC_Hawk
FlyLow_
It doesn't matter how fast you are when you come to a team that plays slow. Always the slowest team on the ice, guys that are supposed to be good and fast come here and look like slugs. Mikheyev just the latest in a long list. Bruce had them flying when he came last year, that was the biggest difference he made. The team was aggressive all over the ice and played fast, now they are back to sitting back playing passive like every season under Green. You play like that and you can't win in this league. 1

DownUndaCanuck
Good for a 22G 50P pace, plays with speed, grit and good on the PK (well on other teams anyway). Pretty successful 1st year at 5M. Garland gets the same money and scores less, Boeser gets 1.5M more and scores 10pts more (pace).

KirkSave
From the outset of the season, something seemed off. He rarely if ever showed off his blazing speed. This ACL injury makes sense. Skating looked off. Hoping he makes a full recovery for next year and can bring his best game to the team.
