Prediction time (gonna get lots of hate but everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
Canucks r gonna MISS the playoffs and finish 5th or 6th in the Pacific. Then we proceed to win the lottery getting the #3 pick.
-
What would it take to get EDM to give us Jesse Puljujärvi.
-
Apparently 2020 is gonna be a deep ass draft in terms of high end skill at the top of the 1st rd
-
SN did a best and worse case scenario for the canucks... Honestly the best case should say "Win the draft lottery and draft Jack Hughes."

@hammertime Im a really big fan of Kakko too!! Those 2 players are the ones im most excited about in the 2019 draft.
-
Tanev only worth a 2nd round pick boi's
-
If the draft was today, and Wahlstrom was at 7, Im taking him. Screw getting a D. We can prob get a D with 37th

@DontMessMe This is pretty close to my view on things as well. Also don't be surprised if Tkachuk is available at 7, and this would be perfect for us because he's exactly what we need to round out our young depth on forward. At the end of the day though I'd be very happy with one of Wahlstrom, Hughes, Dobson or Tkachuk. It's likely that two of these guys will be available at our selection.
-
@Herberts Vasiljevs Exactly what im thinking.
-
Call me crazy but im so down to do Tanev + bear cheese + 2nd round for one of NYI 1st rounder

Exhibit B- The lottery results for the dead-last teams in 2016 and 2018
@TheHitman If we loss more games we wouldve picked #1!
-
@DontMessMe If we won four more games in 2016 we would have the best goal scorer in the NHL today!
-
Can we just intentionally tank next year and get Hughes
-
Petterson Horvat Boeser (1st line next yr plz)
-
I saw this on twitter. Some dude was suggesting we should trade our pick this year assuming its between 6-9 for a top 10 pick next yr.
-
IF we pick either 6 or 7 (8 may happen but 9 WONT happen for sure). I will be happy if its Boqvist, Hughes, Wahlstrom or Tkachuk. In fact.. anyone BUT Bouchard plzzz.

@DontMessMe - I think you misunderstand the phrase "literally impossible". Its "literally impossible" that the Canucks pick 10th OA. It is "extremely unlikely" that the Canucks pick 9th OA.
Dahlin > Svechnikov > Zadina > Hughes > Tkachuk > Boqvist > Dobson > Wahlstrom > Bouchard
I personally do not want Tkachuk, Boqvist, or Bouchard.
I don't really get the love affair that people have with Bouchard. The guy is SLOW. The new NHL is all about speed and transition, not something that Bouchard is strong with. Not to mention that Bouchard is overly mature for the league he plays in which has had a direct impact on his point production. I think he has the lowest ceiling of the other D in the top 10 and has high bust potential (although not as much bust potential as Boqvist). -
@Fateless I firmly believe that you misunderstood my intention of saying "literally impossible.". I understand that there is a ~2% chance of picking 9th I think. What I meant to convey by stating "literally impossible" is that I was trying to make a "hyperbolic statement."
-
I am sad to announce that the canucks have a 0% chance of picking 5th overall :'(
-
Who would you rather on your team? Eichel or Barzal or Rantanen
-
-
Sry for my negativity but ima call it right now. Benning will make a grand total of ZERO trades tmr.
-
NBA fines for admitting to tanking. Wow. Didnt the Sabres admit to tanking for Mcdavid xD
-
Ayy we beat one of the top NHL teams. Now Aquaman be like
Yo Benning. Time to strike a deal for Karlsson. Give em Petterson and our 1st this year. Gotta make playoffs!
-
I dont know why but if we trade some vet, I wouldnt mind packaging in Goldobin to get more from another team.
-
Don't think his added value will net much extra in return. San Jose didn't think he'd fit their roster long term, and while he made tremendous strides in his own end in Utica, that performance has yet to translate to the NHL level. We'd be selling low, so unless someone specifically asks for him I don't know what you expect to get in return that would be better than continuing to work with him and hope he gets his $&!# together.
-
How would hockey fans react if EDM won the 1st overall pick again.

Should we re-sign Vanek??

It's a tough call. On one hand, I really like what he brings to the plate as both a player and a mentor to Brock Boeser. It also helps that he's clicked really well with Boeser and Gagner. However, that magic may be more because of Boeser then anything else.
On the other hand, selling high on him does yield the most return. The problem is, Vanek has a history of being a so/so rental at the deadline so some teams may shy away from paying too much for him (just look at his tenure in Florida last season). It really depends on what he'd get the Canucks in return. If it's a 2nd or a B level prospect, I'd be happy to make a swap and convince him to come back in the summer. That and his exit does open up a spot for a guy like Goldobin who needs to play more and/or Gaudette who's bound to make the jump from NCAA to the NHL this spring.
-
i say let vanek keep on point spreee max his value ask him at deadline if he will come back following yr for an arranged deal trade him at deadline for a late first any contender nashville, tampa, caps, pens for cup run. reunite next yr with boeser buy low sell high rinse repeat.
aquiring picks is key with bennings drafting look at gaz, , juolevi, dahlin, lind, petersson ripping it up more of these type players please
