i'm a proponent of jake eventually becoming the burrows to the pettersson and dahlen line. he doesn't have to over think things. just get in on the forecheck, finish his checks, get the puck to the swedes and go to the front of the net. he just needs more consistency.

I can see the the Raps flipping Kawhi in 60 days to the Lakers for Ingraham. Don't think Magic will want to risk seeing Kawhi sign with the Clippers next year... That type of deal frees up cap for the Raps, gets them younger, and soldifies there new core making them perennial playoff contenders for the next 5-8 years after this one. 

Not like Toronto is attracting any big name free agents. No way are they better than Boston or Philly after this year especially once Lowry starts slowing down. I think they are on par with philly but boston is still a bit better then them.

See, I’ve got mixed feelings on the Leafs jerseys. I was tempted to put them at #6, but they’re just so clean and simple.

I like the Habs jerseys pre-Reebok. But ever since the white collar came in, they’re not great anymore.

As far as the Rangers go, they’re classic, although I could be convinced to put them at 2 (3 at worst, before adidas and the Hawks’ preacher collars lol).

I don't care for the new Leafs logo, and just having the word Rangers is boring to me. Even with the changes, I still like the Habs logo and middle striping enough to have them as an average team of the group.

I dunno, waffles are way better than crepes.

I really don't like this concept of taking on bad contracts. Its too restrictive in the cap era. I'd much rather sell players low than pick up a horrible contract. 

If we didn't already have an albatross contract in Eriksson I might consider it.

I think Lucic still has some game left.  Honestly another 2 years are in him, and after that, buy him out.  He can support the 3rd or 4th line with physicality and leadership.  Maybe show Virtanen how to be a presence.  This team doesn't need its cap for another 2 years at least, and if we can secure some young talent in the transaction, then its all good by me.

The NBA is a joke. Look at Vancouver when it was here. Even if it was allowed to have 1st overall. The guy drafted would have bolted as soon as he could. The Association never supported the North West. 

The players treat it like it's some alien world. Players are mercenaries, plain and simple. The players decide who wins the championship not management or coaches. 

Yet it makes piles of money, but once you have a franchise that can't compete, players don't want to play for you. I'm surprised Seattle still wants a team back. 

Celtics, Rockets, 76ers and Lakers are the only teams who could actually have a chance at beating the Warriors. But have the smallest percent though. At least in hockey any playoff team has a chance.

The two contracts individually occupy the same percentage of cap space as Dorsett's contract the first year after he signed it.

If I'm being completely honest, I'm not thrilled about the term or dollar value (moreso for Beagle than Roussel). That being said, the Canucks don't have much leverage when it comes to free agency, so that's the cost of business I guess. Some other team was going to give these two guys big contracts if the Canucks didn't.

Their contracts are fine.

We're not going to steal players for cheap on the first day of free agency lol.

I'd rather him go back to the Isles than the Leafs, anyone but the Leafs honestly.

If he goes to the leafs, then they might be more likely to trade us Nylander/Marner for Tanev+ (due to not being able to afford Tavares, Matthews, Nylander, and Marner)

@Where's Wellwood Someone actually did the math and it's plausible for them to keep all four of those guys and be able to function under the cap.
