@Cramarossa this has to help your day a little bit

CBJ only has 9 regular roster Fs with Dubinsky out indefinitely with an injury.... we have lots of Fs.....

I wouldn't be surprised if Buff just straight up retires and they get bridge deals done for both. I don't see how that'd help them though. Their defense has been pretty decimated and they'll likely need to trade one of their pending guys for defensive help.
Moving Laine is a tough pill to swallow though because of what he's done thus far at his age.

This time on CDC shall be known as "The Miller Tantrum"

I want trade news and I want it now.

eh? Habsfans boo’d/jeered a legit HHOFer that pretty much carried their team to a cup win (Roy).
Fans by definition aren’t going to be rational at times.
Exhibit A.......***points at himself (Newbie)***
As well, I’d wager a good chance a chunk of these “fans” were chanting “Fire Gillis” that set the wheels in motion for his dismissal and the hiring of Benning.

Hockey Reference gives the Canucks a 37.5% chance of making the playoffs, based on 1000 simulations for the rest of the season.

tied for a wild card. 8 points from last place in the west. what a goofy season.

Parity is alive and well in a CAP NHL. The bigger spread in the East masks some seriously close games. No team is running away and putting their name on the Cup this year. Any one of 20 teams could do it given a decent bit of health luck, hot goaltending and some timely scoring. Even a team like Oilers, Coyotes, Canucks or Blues could take on a Calgary or Nashville and beat them in first round.
-
@Rob_Zepp it would be a long shot, but its certainly possible if the team depth is there.

EP40: 17-G A1-11 A2-7
Rasmus Dahlin: 3-G A1-6 A2-10
Nico Hischier: 7-G A1-5 A2-8
Just found this interesting. Info on primary and secondary assists can be found here: http://www.nhl.com/stats/player?report=skaterscoring&reportType=season&seasonFrom=20182019&seasonTo=20182019&gameType=2&filter=gamesPlayed,gte,1&sort=pointsPer60Minutes

Petey has great offensive and defensive instincts with the only areas that need a lot of improvement being getting the puck out of our zone (like Boeser and other young players) and face-offs.... In 2-3 years we will have one of the best centres in the league! Potentially the best centre depth lineup as well... Petey, Horvat, Gaudette, Beagle, Madden.

Canucks with 9.2 mil cap space + 2.65 LTIR with everyone signed. Nice position to be in for TDL day.

I have a feeling we're going to be faced with another Tkachuk vs defensemen decision.

@MikeBossy I agree. Legacy pick.

No big name D moved pre-expansion... makes a Dallas deal for Tanev even more likely imo.

thats true joe, but we can pick up a solid veteran D in free agency to help with that. If Dallas wants Tanev as much as rumoured then the Canucks being able to pick 3rd and 5th this year is a huge step in the rebuild, much more than keeping Tanev and finishing say 25th instead of 28th in the standings.
-
there could be @Alflives but Dallas needs him the most.

John Shannon tweeting that Pettersson is expected to sign soon per a Canucks source.

@Alflives He's coming over my friend
Assuming he makes the team of course. Odds are he does IMO.
Pettersson - Horvat - Boeser
Baertschi - Sutter - Virtanen
It's going to be a lot of fun to watch the Canucks next season.

Click on this BBC story if you want to be freaked out. Maybe don't be alone.

I like the way the Sedins are ending things, two games for us here at home, one on the road for them just with the team. Seems perfect for them.

I like it too....we didn't have to wait to get the celebration started. Home, to revel in their magnificence, then off on the road to seal the deal.
I have the great pleasure of seeing BOTH of these final games and it's such a treat to be able to acknowledge them in person. To be part of the roar that sends them off to a well deserved family life....
-
thats great Deb I had no idea when I got the tickets for last night that it would be special, I was just looking for a couple of cheapies for one more game ($31 bucks each if you can believe it two weeks ago).
For two guys that actually want to play it out hard and try to win it just seems right to me, and also that they get to enjoy it for themselves for the last one. For all the undeserved crap they've taken I guess I like to see them get a little something too.

Our local media is too hard on the team. And they blame "the fans" but they pick the stories. I'm tired of the fan blame that goes on when its groups like 1040 that are generating all the attention on the the negativity.

Not only are the local media (1040 especially) negative and self-serving, but they are gutless for deflecting blame onto the fans. Time for people to straight up ignore 1040, the Provies, anything Ed Willes writes, and Jeff Patterson in general. In the same breath, people should see Freidman for the same type of clown as the rest of these fools.

Benning's next press conference is going to look a lot like this if all the negativity heaped on him today keeps up.

Vanek's the kind of guy that gets moved in the last hour as a consolation prize for a team that missed out on their real target. The rest of our guys either have little to no trade value, or have enough term that we can move them at another point if the return is right.
Glad Benning got his extension before the deadline so he doesn't feel pressured into making a bad trade.

We don't want you either Rick Nash.

@c00kies its all about balance

Edmonton's 7 pts out of a wildcard spot... somethings gotta give.
-
So I'm liking this Loui-Granny-Vanek line.

That stupid McDavid commercial they play 20 times per game is driving me crazy. Its really funny though, it cracks my wife up every time when they show that workout scene where he's carrying two small kettlebells, she laughs and says "look at McDavids little balls" thats my gal, true Canucks fan.

Anyone concerned over the team going to China should have a look at how they get to fly over. It ain't coach.
