There is some good news. I think we all agree that this team is underperforming and not living up to what they CAN do.

That's just early season rust, lack of preseason, poor coaching/prep or whatever else you want to call it. If they play to their abilities, I think we finish this trip at 0.500 or better. It's not like the whole team is plugs... we have some really good talent. Sure we got beat, but we got beat not playing our best game, that's for sure.

Pearson is a better player, difference being Leivo is playing with players who are playing better currently.

Thing is our 4th line was pretty good last year and in the playoffs.

 

Now our 4th line and 1st line players are way off. People who were a part of a PP and PK that was a lot better last year.

 

That isn't a roster personnel issue. The roster isn't a contending team but it is most certainly way better than it is playing.

I don’t get why Benning gets a pass. He’s made a lot of bad decisions. You can’t keep a gm around for drafting well. He’s made a few good trades, some bad ones and a lot of bad signings.

Sucks that we couldn't have had Miller here for the entire season so far. Work out the kinks earlier. It screwed up the lines and chemistry to start the season. I'm not worried about MIller, or Petey even.  They'll find their rhythm as long as everyone remains healthy. Its that the veterans are mostly invisible. Every team needs a mix of reliable vets and upstart young talent. But if the vets are third rate and don't hold up their end of the bargain, and the team relies on its young core to do everything, even with the young talent we have its unsustainable.  But what can we do? JB has us locked in for a couple more years with those "foundational" pieces and old contract payouts.

It is so sad to be a canucks fan

Been one for 35 years ......

Never got off the band wagon

But too see this team how small and weak they are it is just frustrating. 

Not going to get any better...sorry people. 

Lots of good players but not even close enough to ever win anything 

Yet they preach false hopes...

well all 3 were UFA's, that tkachuk part has been beaten too death so much that the persons been doing it so long that he him self died of old age, andersson though, who knows who we would of picked with it.

Canucks had 16 shots after the 1st period, they ended the game with 27 shots, they had 11 shots in 2 periods.... Penalties or not 11 shots in 2 periods in the regular season is unacceptable.
