We all know that reffing has been bad, but to see calls going against a team for the sake of 'game management' speaks to the poison from within. But the fact that so many trusting lemmings(esp addicted Cdn fans) have long believed this multi-billion $ industry has ever been run honestly. There are a bazillion subtle ways to influence seasons. Over hundreds/thousands of individual outcomes(finished games), the desired end can be achieved, quite easily. Game management has been too obvious to deny for years, it's not the worst kind of corruption. I'm really looking forward to when they finally get busted for match fixing. I'm so happy almost 3 decades back I decided to stop watching organized sport. Have saved(prob yrs) of precious time to do other stuff. Canucks were the last nasty habit that I couldn't kick. I consider it an associated toll one must endure for ever having lived in Beautiful BC. This isn't surprising at all. The rules in the NHL are just simply based on the opinion of the refs. Per @AdamVingan , Bill Daly says the NHL is taking a look at it. It's certainly not a good look for the league.
