DownUndaCanuck Posted November 6, 2021 Share Posted November 6, 2021 The Blackhawks have been dreadful even before the Kyle drama, then that's made things much worse. They have nothing to lose by firing all the coaches but not much to gain. Kane and a handful of the young forwards have been decent offensively but as a team they've just been defending dreadfully, Jones has been a mess on defence moreso than expected and Fleury's golden years are well past him. Don't think a coaching change will help this team but it won't hurt. They, like the Canucks, really need to try and play a more defensive-minded system of hockey and use their talent up front to score opportunistic goals rather than play their old system of run-and-gun because they're much too leaky defensively. They've got some solid pieces in their team still and even under a great coach they're probably not a playoff team, but they shouldn't be as bad as they are right now. I do hope JB takes note and Green follows suit but I think this level of mediocrity that the Canucks are going through right now will mean that Green's job is safe - we really need to suck the way Chicago has for a coaching change...
