The funny thing is that Travis Green was a very hardworking player, far from the most talented guy on the ice. But as a coach, his teams seem to have a huge problem playing with any kind of intensity or effort

When you have a boss that treat a friend of yours like garbage you might give it a rest til you see for yourself how bad the boss is. Why do you talk about Canucks? Benning and Green are not the Canucks. I still don't believe it should make you change your attitude towards any organisation ( and don't want another discussion about it) Benning and Green are the Canucks until they are sacked. They make all the decisions regarding this team, unfortunately....
IBatch
I'm just hoping Green lasts until the Ottawa game so i can walk down to the bench and thank him for his service first hand. Going to yell out things only he'd know about Castlegar to get his attention during the game - look for a good old fashion Travis Green "f!ck off" or something like that maybe i can even get a smile and a conversation from him, that's if the security lets me get that far. I saw what Valk said .... and agree with the other comments about how Green was definitely a hard working player - and coach (one of the reasons he got the big job in the first place). Change is needed something is wrong. And it for sure needs to start with a solid hockey mind at the top - President Aqua isn't what the team needs. A real president to play interference with a new GM would be a great start. And unfortunately the bubble magic dust has run out on Green too. 2

And not even teams good castoffs, ones that had everyone scratching their heads. Meanwhile Benning has been building this for 8 years… If they had even just an average goalie, Seattle would have many more wins. Yes, Gillis left Benning with an empty cupboard but that was more than 7 years ago. We should be at a stage better than an expansion club who obviously had essentially a zero farm system like six months ago. Most glaring is that we effectively still have no President. 1

He's like a whiny child who has lost his ball. I remember the drive he had if someone took the puck from him. He would fight to get it back. There is literally none of that drive left. That's on him, but at this point given the investment at minimum all the coaches need to go. And I mean ALL Don’t you dare take away our Clark.

I would like to see Igor Larionov come in as our President of hockey. He’s total class, experienced, and his reputation could attract top Russian players. Battlemonger
Yeah. After the effort against Pittsburg, I was in stitches when Green said they were trying very hard. It was like boys against men out there.

Despite his +/- rating and being deployed in the offensive zone 70% of his shifts. He leads the team in high danger scoring chances agiainst (10 more than Myers) and scoring chances against (9 more than Myers). Eye test, Hughes looks better defensively. To be honest though, it's such a mess it's tough to really evaluate any one player. It just an ffnn mess. 1
Popular Post -DLC-
I feel for the team and wrote a big post with my brilliant ideas of the what's and why's, but I can't kick them when they're down. I just can't. My hope each game is that "this'll be the turning point, the one that salvages things" but I've come to realize that if we pluck a win out here and there it's just not enough. It's gotta be so tough, mentally, on that room. If divides do take place, it's understandable but it's also up to coaching staff to keep everyone on the same page (if they even have paper). That's where they have to intervene. To see Petey and Brock fall off the face of the earth is really disheartening. If they are sulking (which I highly doubt), that's on them. Big boy pants are required and you have to use the JT method and get pissed off. Intensity not complacency. I just feel this roster is capable of so much more....Benning hasn't done a great job with supporting casts and that's been a big issue. Still is to some degree. The way he's handcuffed the team at times has pushed us into corners and forced decisions. But your star players can't rely on others and so it's mind boggling to see players unravel here. That points to coaching for me. Sigh. I'll be here for the long haul, but it sure isn't fun right now. And I can't imagine how it is for the players who have to face the music and this angry mob of a town we're in. Feels like they're adrift on a life raft and the coaches are on shore trying to send smoke signals to help them. This roster SHOULD be producing more and it's time to quit tinkering and look at why that is. The only coach who should be here at this point in my view is Clark, who's proven his work. Green's done well and I like him...but it's stale and heading in the wrong direction. I don't think he has the answers at this point. Talk of trading JT is ludicrous to me....the one guy who is truly showing the heart and will needed to dig a team out of a hole and...... No way. 4 6 2
Popular Post Battlemonger
“I don't know if we're pressing too hard,” Horvat said. “We're trying to make something out of nothing right now ...where we're not playing the way we should be playing in order to win. I don't know if we're pressing for offence or what, I don't really know the answer. But it seems to be that way -- we turn pucks over and it ends up in the back of the net.” If you are trying to make something out of nothing, it means you have no systems in place. Green can talk about following systems and process all he wants, but he obviously has nothing concrete. Its like our government and the dildos who voted for them. All talk and no action.

The fact that players "don't know" and are lost for answers really suggests to me that coaching does not have a grip on things. And should. 4 2

They do have an experienced NHL coach, who should be able to get them out of it and turn things around
