Blitz-Pix
Get him on a plane over here ASAP and into the Abbotsford line up.
theo5789
I assume he can't be sent to Abby as he wasn't "papered" to go there before the AHL TDL and can't play in their playoffs anyway. I could be wrong on that. Hopefully he gets a call to play in the World Championships.

According to article from Canucks Daily Filip Johansson is eligible to join the Abbotsford Canucks for the playoffs in their chase for the Calder Cup. The last line of the article stats "Many reports on the defenseman stipulated that he'd be causing a surprise when he comes to camp next September" I don't think anyone that followed him season will be surprised...but I'll temper my expectations and see how he preforms with Abottsford during the playoffs He did have 5 points in 12 playoff games for Frolunda before they were eliminated, so he should be game shape but may expierence an adjustment period to the smaller Ice surface. Abbotsford is going to have a great team this postseason once they get all their players back from injury and reinforcements like Johansson in the line up. Would like to get out to a game or two and see them in person. 4 1

Ray_Cathode
Last night in Abby vs Calgary, Kannok-Leipert stood up and fought a much bigger Calgary opponent who had cheap shot an Abby player. After the game, Rathbone acknowledged Kannok-Leipert for doing so and emphasized his importance to the team. He also went on to praise his skills as a hockey player. He didn’t have to do that. It made me wonder why. Well, the Abby Canucks had just beat Calgary again, one of the best teams in the league, with the personnel that they have. Now, it’s rumoured that Johansson is coming over, Wolanin and Juulsen have been waived to come down. That might be raising concerns amongst the players that got them there. Just entirely speculation on my part, but it did make me wonder. The playoffs are the reward for struggling through a difficult season, after all. Wolanin, Juulson and Podz are all coming back but they all had a big part in getting Abby to where they are. Brisbois and Guiseppe will not return. Johansson coming should not be a problem. Black Aces coming to playoff teams is a ritual that all these players should be used to by this time in their careers. Many were likely Black Aces themselves.

It’s only Johansson that hasn’t been a big part of the games before. Wolanin was voted as the best in AHL par example.

Too bad about Brisbois, he didn't look out of place with the big club.

Nuxfanabroad
Nice to add the depth for PO-grind. Why don't we just waive Myers next fall? Treat him as team-depth. Through the season, it'll prob prove useful. & maybe we'd luck out & someone claims him(bonus been paid)

IMHAO Hronek and Hirose will be our 2 pair next year and be Fantastic. We need a partner for Hughes. Love to get Tanev back for that role.
