It allows for there to be two pairings with a quality offensive dman paired with a more defensive minded one.

OEL - Hughes

T. Commander - Hronek

Wolanin - Bear

Just need to trade Myers and fill that hole with a  off-season signing or TDL/Draft trade.

Hronek is a good pickup.

Dude lol, there are literally 0 defensive minded defensemen in that lineup.

I guess this just goes to show the price of NHL RHD.

Hronek's not a bad piece and should improve the blue line but still many holes with the team. Seemed like it would be better to try and draft are way out of the problem, but the goal is still clearly to get competitive as soon as possible. Whether they achieve that is questionable. Would have loved the 1st Rd pick in this year's deep draft, or the shot at a potential lottery pick in 2024. Hronek's good but not that good, IMHO.

If JB made this move he'd be crucified. This is a big move by Allvin, telling us they want to win soon, they don't want to try and rebuild. Pretty pathetic for a bottom 6 team in the league.

If we win and make the playoffs next year then great, this move looks good on us, but if we don't it's yet another OEL-like gamble and waste of a great pick. I get the risk involved with drafting defencemen but there's bigger risk in wasting top picks to just acquire good players when you have the rest of the team in shambles.

We need plenty more moves to solidify this team still. If we're going for it, we still need to do lots of re-shaping. I'm all for going for it but we need a 3rd line center and another top 4 defenceman to be taken seriously, and somehow move one of Myers or OEL.

Yes, because an offensive dman was what we were missing.

Exactly why I have mixed feelings about this; sure he's young and having a strong season so we could argue we got him at a bargain on paper, and RHD was our position of need and we get one who's only 25, but it really begs the question of whether he's the right fit (Myers/ OEL/ Hughes all focus on moving the puck too).

Should've held on to the picks and build through the draft. Enough of this fence jumping, mixed messages, etc.

Edit: Unless there's something in the works involving Boeser, Miller with getting picks back, this is an L.

Rutherford not satisfied with destroying the team's reputation and is now sabotaging the future as well.  This is likely a win for Vancouver long-term as it will expedite the Canucks firing this parasite sooner.

This feels like it could be a really good move.  If we move Miller and get a 1st and Pickering as part of it we could start to be light years ahead of where we were.

We're not moving Miller.

We're not moving boeser.

Worst thing they could have done. Seriously just traded a 1st and 2nd for a injured small over achieving 25 year old who's GOING TO BE LOOKING FOR A BIG DEAL NEXT YEAR??!!

Embarrassing af AGAIN<_<

I'm worried all the goodwill this managent has done has been wiped by the Schenn trade and now this....

That being said, don't know much about Hronek....
