somewhere out in my shed, there is a box and binder of my son's canuck's hockey card collection. he tried to get all the canuck cards going back to 1970. i wish i had the energy to did them out. 

I recently moved out and thought about getting rid of my hockey and Pokemon cards, but I have the space in my new place, so I took them with me. Mostly just nostalgia really.

But if they play like they did last night they will finish last. 

But every team that finishes last should be forced to raise a 'WE SUCKED 20XX-20XY' Banner.  I'll bring it up next time I talk to my buddy Gary.

My son was into pokemon cards for a bit when he was 7 or 8.

For me, pokemon became a thing later in my teens, and it was just seen as a weird thing Asian kids did that wasn't sports, so it was utterly lame. If you even said "pokemon" and you weren't Asian it was highly likely you were about to get stuffed in a locker after having NERD written on your forehead in sharpie.

I swear, everybody was bullied to some extent in those days.

Try using uBlock Origin instead of adblock.  See if that helps.

I use AdBlock and I am noticing ads getting through on Yahoo.com. Might have to give @SabreFan1 's suggestion a try.

I've often wondered who actually still uses Yahoo.  Now I know.  

Don't forget to remove AdBlock before installing uBlock Origin.  I don't know if they'll play nice together and still block ads if they're both running at the same time.

we've found the best deal on cars is to pick something on a lot that is still around from the previous model year, they usually are willing to move those quickly and for some good deals because they need to move them for new inventory. We got our last two vehicles that way and saved about 5k each. You just can't be picky about options, if there's something there you like it works nicely. 

It's not that buying a new car is difficult, they are actually very accommodating. Affordability is not the issue, but rather how much I'm spending relative to how much I drive. It's just that when I drive 30 minutes max a day, and sometimes not at all on the weekend, I have a hard time justifying most new car prices and I'm only looking at Hondas of all things. The finance was costing me about 6k a year with 5 down. So then I explored used models, a few years older, which are cheaper, but then the interest rates on those are through the roof and it makes no financial sense to do this. So then I might as well go with a new model.. then you see the loop that occurs here.

Anyway, after exploring all options, I'm getting my Prelude restored. The labor is all free and the engine replacement is cheap enough where it makes sense to do this. It has half the mileage of the engine they are replacing.

I've always enjoyed &^@#ing with cold callers, scams or not. 

My favorite is asking them if they're the company with the robots I can buy. Then I start acting annoyed when I have them repeat their company "NO, CRA.. CRA. You're the company with the robots! I want five robots!" 

"So I owe you $5000 for robots I've never seen? WHERE ARE MY ROBOTS?! My bathroom is disgusting, there's poo everywhere. Where's my cleaning robots?"

They usually hang up when I start yelling at them about robots. It's pretty fun

yeah, it's &^@#ed. It's like the old grand theft auto games where you constantly see the same vehicle loop over and over.

we turned in our jeep this year for a awd fiat, 1/2 the gas consumption but I find people do more stupid things around you as well, particularly cyclists. Jeeps come with a nice aura of protection.

Disconnecting them from a power source is smarter. Just because the mic is muted doesn't mean it's not listening; it could simply be coded to not respond when the mic is muted yet listen in anyway.

Exactly why I said I'd unplug them if I were concerned.  If I was a government official or someone who needed to keep important secrets, I wouldn't keep an AI in my house.

Laughing at all the guys for subsidizing my hair cuts! Thanks dudes. 40 years old with a large flock of super curly, thick hair. Both my Grandpa's died in their late 80's with thinned, yet prominent hairlines. 

I go to Sams in White Rock, dude is the modern day Edward Scissorhands.  Does my hair in under 5 min, calls me ugly but that's the price you pay for a good barber.  Number two on the sides and a bit off the top, boom done.  $20 tip included

What I hated was going to a place like tragic cuts were they spend like 20min doing my hair.  This one lady kept pulling out every razor clip, jagged scissors, like wtf are you doing lol?
