The Flames sucked period in the playoffs, and whatever his statline against Anaheim, Tkachuk still had a strong regular season.
Bandwagon38 323 Posted April 20, 2017 Not that I want a response but where are all of the Tkatchuk lovers? He was a total no show for the Flames! 4 games and nothing on the score sheet. joulevi has just as many points in the NHL playoffs with 4 fewer games played! Woohoo

The second anyone dons that red jersey they will be subject for unfair criticism period. I thought Calgary was way over rated.
Ghostsof1915 32,458 Posted April 20, 2017 8 points in 14 playoff games for a d-man is not a bad thing. Defensemen have usually a longer development curve. Let's review where he's at in 2-3 years. I just hope we can get a mid-round 1st so we can draft Cal Foote. Nothing wrong with building the team with some Kelowna defenders.

All you anecdotal stories are great and all and gee I'm shocked that a professional athlete wouldn't be stuffing his gob with pasta and all but Stecher highly disagrees on your assessment of his mentoring abilities.Gave him major credit at the beginning of the year for mentoring him actually. I could care less if he's an introvert or not.I'd imagine neither do his team mates. Don't forget that Harvey is obsessed with Tronald Dump... the guy clearly likes his humans to be arrogant, obnoxious, loud and intolerable
R35Godz1lla 337 Posted April 20, 2017 (edited) I think it's safe to say with Tryamkin leaving to the KHL that his spot is now Juolevi's to loose. Edited April 20, 2017 by R35Godz1lla
250Integra 6,663 Posted April 20, 2017 With Tryamkin gone... Edler-Stetcher Hutton-Tanev Gudbranson-Juolevi I have a feeling it will either be Juolevi or Subban for that spot.

McEneny is almost certainly ahead of Subban at this point as far as having an NHL-ready game. As well, Pedan should take this as a sign of a big (maybe final) opportunity, because we're back to needing what he potentially brings.

Doubt he wants to come here and management has already sadi they won't be in the top UFA market. Depth UFA D, sure. Alzner, nope.
Warhippy 30,885 Posted April 20, 2017 Losing the train hurts. Juolevi has a spot but will need to he sheltered Best hope. Moving one of Edler or Tanev for a solid 1st. Drafting any combination of Heskainen/Liljegren/Foote on D (nhl ready bodies) And Vilardi/Hischier/Patrick (NHL ready bodies) Or trading down for a solid blue chip D prospect and drafting Glass Necas or Suzuki. This kinda screwed us right now. OJ has a spot but they'll either have to bring in a UFA to shelter him or draft an NHL sized defenseman to help the blue line to ensure he gets more development time

Coconuts 11,226 Posted April 21, 2017 (edited) With Tram moving on you've his chances of making the bigs likely increase. I'm hoping he ends up back in junior. We're gonna need more depth as is, so I'm hoping Gillis Benning acquires a few pieces to insulate our younger guys who are still developing. Wouldn't be opposed to having someone new to patrol the blue line next season if it gave Olli more time to slow cook in junior.
