If on the first day after testing the coach says the team is really fit other than.... and the player admits he didn’t reach his offseason goals it’s blatantly obvious it’s about conditioning and fitness. It’s not about Jake stayed up late watching a movie friend. I don’t think anyone can say 100% what it’s about although some seem to think so.. if People really watched Brock and picked apart his fitness like they do Jake you’d see some similarities. Only Jake and Green know what really were his goals were. For all we know he just didn’t come in at end season weight or lower, big deal man everyone but BoHo loses weight during season Jake is a solid future piece of the teams puzzle everyone is acting like they forgot LE is the whipping boy. I’ve seen countless pics of Jv all summer he ain’t 230 or close to again so I’d stop worrying bud it’s most likely a lot more minuscule then everyone is making it out to be. 1 1

I think it’s about the maturity, attitude and professionalism. He’s no rookie. He’s been in the league 4 years now, the fact he’s not getting it yet is worrisome. Look at how Petey and Bo prepare and train, if Jake would put in the same effort he would be putting himself in the best position to become what he’s capable of. The one thing he can control is training, the fact he’s not understanding that yet, to most fans is disappointing. It’s suggesting that he may never “get it” because he just doesn’t want it bad enough.

That was before Jake missed media day. Jake skates with the also-rans as a penalty for missed off-season goals. Then, he is constantly gassed in that practice. Even Inspector Gadget could solve this mystery, Jake blew his summer training again. Maybe he needs to try veganism or something. Goldy looks bigger in this video, looks like he took his summer seriously. If Goldy has a great camp, I could see Jake starting the year in Utica. Jake isn't going anywhere, fans need to stop overreacting about a coach holding a developing "Young" player accountable and working to turn him into the best player he can be. Jake will be here a long time. 3 1

If he wants to stick on Vancouver he better wake up, and if traded, eventually he’ll run out of chances. You can only “tease” talent so long before you get passed by. Hunger will beat talent 10 out of 10 times, and it’s not like Jake has Petey level talent where he can pull this crap and think he can stick in the NHL long term. Wow....what a stretch haha. Pre season games are two days away yet you know exactly what the issue was (fitness) and now Jake is gonna be traded so many times he will be out of the NHL altogether. Sure.... 1 1

canuck2288
I must admit I am almost ready to give up on Jake. Guy could be a top tier power forward but just does not want to work for it. The “kid” has the opposite makeup of the Sedins. Doesn’t meet training expectations. Plays like an a hole in the world juniors, and can’t even sign a few autographs? What a Jake Ass As far as I am concerned JB should package him off and let’s move on from him. I personally consider him a bust Dump the underachieving generation zero for the 4th round pick he is worth Edited September 14, 2019 by canuck2288 1 3

Truth be told, perhaps this IS him totally focusing on the goal at hand and wanting to avoid the hoopla and distractions. If it means he's taking this seriously, I'm all for him doing the on ice stuff then bolting. I see it as a positive. There'll be lots of time for fans and autographs after the business at hand is through. Right now, I respect the fact that he's not engaging in the fanfare...speaks volumes to me of his mindset. Right where it needs to be. 2 1
Popular Post 250Integra
Some observations from day 2: - Myers is a giant of a man. Moves very well for a big guy and has a lot to give in the offensive zone. Very impressed with his entries and ability to gain the blue line. - Edler and Tanev looked steady as always. Lets hope they stay healthy. - Miller had quite a few chances in the scrimmage. He and Bo we’re showing some good chemistry. - Petey was doing Petey things. Very excited to see how he’ll do this year. I asked him if he’ll pot 40? And he said “maybe we’ll see”. - Ferland is a big boy and he’s going to create a ton of space for Pettersson. Seems like a nice kid as well. - MacEwan looked really good in practice and scrimmage. Moves so well for a big guy and has a great shot. I’m excited to see him get called up at some point. - Woo looked very steady. He’s got great wheels and didn’t look out of place against the vets. Expect to see him in the NHL in the next 2-3 years. - Bailey, Perron, and Graovac look like great additions to Utica. All will be fine call ups when the injury bug hits. - Hughes is just magical when he skates. So effortless and he can create so much space with his tight turns and ability to get away from the forwards. - Chatfield was pretty impressive. Had a few nice defensive plays (one on Horvat). Super steady and calm. Look for him to maybe get some time on the Canucks this year. - Bulldog (Biega) was working hard and is probably one of the nicest guys. Stood around many times to sign things for fans. Love what he brings to the team. Edited September 14, 2019 by 250Integra 2 5 2

He makes chump change sure he isn’t the best overall 6th pick but hell he isn’t terrible. Or were “off-season goals” about fitness. it seems many here want to play semantics and ignore common sense when it comes to what the issue is. I could care less if you want to be that ignorant. I like Jake but anyone who can’t see this is blatantly about his fitness is in denial.
