He's made it to the finals twice but lost both times.. gotta get that ring to be on the all time greats list. AV is a very good coach who can pick and choose where he wants to coach. But not alltime great..

Wouldn't be surprised to see a bottom feeding squad like Detroit grab him. And tank the tank? Stevey probably has a plan which entails building from within. I don't think he'd have much impact on the tank individually tbh, Detroit's destined to finish bottom three. But as a piece that'd cost them nothing to have ready for next season, it'd be worth pondering at the very least.
DeNiro
100% he gets picked up. He put up 65 points only 3 seasons ago, is 27 years old, and only has a 4.5 million dollar cap hit. No way there’s a team that doesn’t look at their blue line and see a need for his puck moving abilities. Even if he is a liability in his own end. Everyone on here said the same thing about Barrie and look at him now.

Everyone on here said the same thing about Barrie and look at him now. Everyone said what exactly about Barrie? I know the common sentiment on HF was that he was a PP specialist who needs to be hidden at ES. I still see the same exact thing. You can only have one of those guys on your team. Thankfully that Barrie trade never happened with the reported figures Dreger put out (8x8) for us to re-sign him. 1 hour ago, Junkyard Dog said: Panthers licking their chops. I don’t think they even get the chance I can’t see both the Kings and Senators passing on Ghost. Not a huge dollar amount and both teams have tons of cap room and bad defences. Wolfgang Durst
For those who are interested in getting more details on waiving Gostisbehere: Philadelphia Flyers: The Philadelphia Flyers have placed defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere on waivers. David Dwork: Gostisbehere’s contract was front-loaded. He has two years left at a $4.5 million salary cap hit but is owned salaries of $3.25 million. Cap Friendly: “Any club that is potentially interested in claiming Shayne Gostisbehere off waivers at noon tomorrow, would require at least $1,525,000 in projected cap space, OR $4,500,000 in available Salary Pool relief for those clubs that are currently in LTIR.” Sam Carchidi: The point of putting Gostisbehere on waivers was to free up salary cap space for a major deal. Jordan Hall: Flyers coach Alain Vigneault on Gostisbehere being on waivers: “We do believe that he’s going to clear waivers.” Charlie O’Connor: Vigneault on waiving Gostisbehere: “It just gives us a little bit more flexibility in terms of personnel in terms of the 23-man roster. Could put him on the taxi squad given the lineups.” “It’s a flat-cap era and most teams are not looking to take on any money or any term right now,” Fletcher said last week. “To add a player with dollars, you have to subtract the same amount. Those types of trades are a little bit more difficult to make.”

Have to wonder if Detroit is going to weaponize their cap space to add picks and prospects. Maybe they’ll be a middleman for a bunch of deadline trades, retaining 50% on any rentals moving between teams, and picking up futures as a “handling fee.” IIRC, they have around 35M of deadline cap space, so they could be pretty active, if they decide to.
