What we should be going for, is a Stanley Cup.   For the first time since Keenan took over, we actually have a team with a ton of assets that could be used to break the cycle of - well not winning a cup.   Imagine having Bure, Mogilny and Linden in their primes as trade chips!   Plus a lot of very good support players ... Gelinas.   Walker.   Messier! (lol a joke ... but still why not sign and trade?) ... I suppose that MG also had some of that too ...  Nonis had to wait for the WCE era guys cap hits to go away and was let go for it ... And MG used those savings on Mats freaking Sundin lol.    Just picked a random covid post - which i'm also guilty of on the GDT/PGT the last couple days - to try and get the hockey talk back where it should be.    Covid thread has a couple thousand pages by now i'm sure ... lots to discuss there.

Hockey around Christmas is usually a great pastime.   And New Years...we had some epic tilts with PHI if i remember right, really angry fight filled affairs, high scoring too.     Hockey for sure provides a very nice escape for fans these days.   Can't wait for it to be back.

On paper that keenan team was dynasty calibre. Well the forward group anyway, pre salary cap. Don't think orca bay would have kept it together if they had success anyway, they never seemed like passionate owners. I was pretty Young though so wasn't much at all in the know about the off ice handling at the time.

He actually was one of our better forwards that postseason though it took him that long to get actually in shape lol.  10 million of Sundin is still better than 30 million of Loui spread over five years.

YouTube recommended a Canucks Mic’d up video a year ago featuring Jake Virtanen’s smiling face. I wonder what Jake could have been able to accomplish if he had been lucky enough to stay and play for # Bruce There It Is.

Too bad and sad that Jake was not lucky enough to be coached by BB who know how to bring each player’s potential and full strength to win

GCG:canucks::towel:

Same with Goldy.  I wonder what he might have achieved with an experienced coach behind the bench

As of right now, does anyone know when the next Canucks game could be? Would it be Dec. 27th against Seattle?

As of now yes.  None of the games past 23 December are marked as postponed for any team.

Team will practice this morning...a good sign.

They come back to four divisional games in a row including two teams that they’re chasing.

Important to get this practice time in. Hopefully they’ll get some healthy bodies back soon. I would think Poolman, Schenn, and Lammikko will be cleared soon. Tomorrow marks a week since they were placed in protocol.

Minimum 10 days so they should be back after the Christmas break.  The league suspends activities at the end of day on the 23rd.

The fact Bruce was brought in mid-season a week of practice will probably do the team a world of good.

A lot of rumours the NHL is going to announce a shutdown today.

Just rumours, not reporting as gospel here.

I wonder if that will come with announcement that the players are pulling out of the Olympics.

BJs and Habs done.
