At what point do people stop listening to Sekeres? Bruce calls out his BS: "they make stuff up."

Didn't Bruce say, "you guys make stuff up"? Implying all our media, so the guys doing the interview more so than others?
And was Bruce upset (he sounded seriously upset) because the stories held some truth?
I'm wondering if Bruce is POed with the whole, he needs to get better at structure and analytics comments. Those comments by JR clearly indicated Bruce was talked to about improving his coaching.

15 has to be lucky for us, there's a 5 in it.

there are some pretty damn good players historically at 15: https://www.quanthockey.com/nhl-draft/en/overall/15-overall-draft-picks-players-all-time-points-leaders.html

Would the most Canucks thing ever be us trading for Tanev and losing him for the season to an injury opening day?

hi Nux - we're planning another trip to Japan, just wondering if you've spent time in Nara and if you think that area is worth a stay, or if we should spend more time in Osaka instead.
-
Hi @JM_. If I may interject, you should definitely go to Nara. Especially if traveling with children. There's a deer park that Nara is famous for and here, you can hand feed the deer (some of which can be pretty persistent). Cherry blossoms are beautiful and temples and shinto shrines are spectacular. When I was courting my wife (she's Japanese), she took me to Nara and so it has a lot of fond memories for me. While in the area, you should make a trip to Himeji (Hyogo Prefecture), my wife's home town. Himeji Castle is one of UNESCO heritage sites, and after having undergone a recent renovation/restoration, it's an amazing place to visit. And there's a really cool zoo in Himeji. Osaka is awesome but a day or two visiting Nara and Himeji won't disappoint you (both are easily accessible by train from Osaka, as you probably know). Happy travels.

thanks @bigbadcanucks that sounds really nice. We are thinking of starting our trip in Nara, and working our way slowly back to Tokyo.

Its Frankie Corrado mad out there.

That day your backup is mad for being a backup. #Canucks_infamy

People ragging on Bo need to check his hockey reference page, he's been remarkably reliable.

If it weren't for Miller, we'd be going insane about Horvat's offensive production lately. His crazy hot play has brought his numbers almost all the way up to his regular career average. He's on pace for 55 points in 77 games, very close to his standard of around 60 points in 82 games.
Notably, his goal scoring is especially hot right now, on pace for his first 30-goal season in just 77 games.

have you ever stopped and thought that maybe the players actually listen to those calls and then decide its time to put their work boots on and show what they can do?
Its fine if you want to make a point, but its better when the players let their play do the talking.
Petey, Bo, Miller and Boeser have all heard "talk" about their games and possible trades
Petey, Bo and Miller have all stepped up, while Boeser has shrank into a shell of his former self
Who do you want going into the playoffs?
Who do you want long term?
What do you think Alvin and JR think of all this?
Look at Winnipeg, "Bronx cheered" by their own fans
So, what do they do?
They come out and win
and their Captain faces the media and address' the issue without whining or crying about it
And look, they are right back in the race with us
Maybe you were faithful
Maybe your coddling does not help as much as you think

If Motte gets moved due to contract issues, do we have anyone that can take over for him? I'm concerned about our PK if he's traded.

Yeah, I'd like to see Dickinson moved. He won't be moved this deadline because he's injured but I could see him being moved out similar to Nate Schmidt in the offseason for a pick.
I think Jasek will come back. Canucks have his rights until he is 27. He is 24 so he'll have to play at least two more seasons abroad before he can become a UFA. He just put up 50 points in 52 games in the Liiga. I just don't see why Jasek wouldn't test out the waters one more time now that new management/coaching is here. I feel like he'd actually be given a fair shot at 4th line minutes. Ironically, had he re-signed, he probably would've been called up by now. I don't think it's a big IF rather a WHEN.
-
I've only seen Lockwood play once, but he definitely has NHL skating ability. He may be one of those guys who looks okay in the AHL, but might raise his game when matched with better players in the NHL. I do worry that his rambunctious play results in injury, but he looks to have the tools to be a good bottom six forward.

5/7 of the next games leading up to the TDL are ones we should take. If that happens, does Rutherford stand pat?

I think it also depends on what the teams in front of them do.
If they keep winning, then we’re not really making up ground. Vegas hasn’t played well, though, and Edmonton is well, Edmonton. I get the sense that it kind of feels like false hope. Is this team as bad as it is this season? Probably not. I think if they came back with the same roster, under Bruce, they’re a much better team. Only question is, how can the team fit all of the current players who’s contracts are expiring soon (Miler, Bo, Brock specifically).

I want to see a Motte extension today too.

There is a way to have $20 mil in cap space for next year and not trade Miller or Boeser.
-
Do the Rangers make a big move for Miller today?

Did last nights game really happen?

Uncle Roger is hilarious.

What would it take to trade for Brady Tkachuk? we need someone to help us win ugly. Games that is.

Me too man McT or Clarke would have been huge for the club.
I think what we really lack that would have greatly helped last night is a point shot. Just get it through get a rebound create a scramble. Salo could blast it but he was at his best when he was just sifting a shot through to the net. We need that.

Does anyone else find Pete Davidson very untalented and annoying?

He is pale and gangly and he tries to be unabashedly normal as much as possible and not act like a celebrity or rich famous guy.
I don't get it.. maybe he is just packing or is that great in the bedroom...
Also Arian Grande like most celebrities very overrated looks wise she is tiny and cakes on too much makeup.
Looks like a 12 year old trying too hard to look and act all grown up.

It's awesome that Connor McDavid's favourite player is Evander Kane.

Anyone here have experience skiing Red Mountain? thinking about a trip if the world doesn't blow up before April.

Hehe. I learned to ski there. Face of Red used to scare the $#&^ out of me. Granite (part of the complex) is the bigger mountain with the better variety. It must be super now with the new lifts behind Granite accessing new terrain. Plenty of challenging terrain for sure. If youre not advanced try the south side of Granite for starters.

Proud of the team, they've given themselves a chance.
-
Me too. No one expected this kind of bounce back and it's so great to see them having fun (and us too!). Sad there are still some who aim at perfection (only) and seep out at the first sign of struggle and an imperfect game to point out the flaws and attack our players. No joy in that. I'd rather celebrate the wins and the comebacks that grab us a point...that's the point!
Really proud of these guys. They have pride and were not going to accept the status quo.

Why is Andrew Walker such a wiener?
