I like Loui, and I feel for the guy, but tonight I'm glad he's out of the line up. Let's let the young guys see if they can keep up in the NHL. I hope MacEwen and Graovac play more than 2 minutes each.

On a side note  I know I'm not a fan of Green, but I'm all for an underdog story, so I'm hoping he can turn it around, but if we keep spiraling it might be time to move on, I just hope it doesn't get to this point.

Green loading up the lines with size. Well done.

Seeing eriksson and baertschi sitting is good as they’re both perimeter players who’ve been coasting. No need for that.

Has Pearson earned a spot with Pettersson and Boeser?  I guess that remains to be seen.

Interesting change in the defense pairings.

Look at that top six! Every player is big, can play, and hustles, big except for that Petterson kid, but he's more tenacious, skilled, and faster than all of those guys. Great mix. Very excited to see that. If you can surround Petey with toughness and determination, and adequate ability while surrounding MacEwen with leadership and skill it could be a thing of beauty.

If it lasts for more than 2 shifts. Although that practice vid Vintage uploaded makes me think they're hungry.

I'm glad we've added size. It makes for a safer work place for our skill guys.

Plus size makes it easier to get out of our end. To this end I would like to see Fanny in for Stex. Our D men also don't have the right mix of size and skill. 3 tough D men and 3 softer skill types. Not good. We need 4 big D and add 2 of our skill D ie Huggy and either Tanev/Stex. Fantenburgh fits that mix right now. We're a way better team with more toughness. EP/Boes/Bo all need more room. I say Bo because he's playing at a lighter weight this year ( a bit less bull style).

Red, Yellow, Orange screams 80s. Some of the most popular colours of that era.

Yeah, if we were to wear skate jerseys for an 80s night, it should be the marigold, orange, and red ones, not the 90s ones with black.

well it would be nice

if ep40, brock, bo

all come out of their temporary production retirements this game

too many fans criticize the lesser players regularly

when in fact our key players are the ones

who have been letting this team down the most

i get it the team lacks depth due to injury etc

which impacts what the top tier guys can do

but the top tier guys are supposedly top tier

as they are in the best position to overcome these obstacles

but maybe we have overestimated their true abilities?

Last 11 games the Canucks record is 3-5-3

EP and Brock both have 11pts and Bo 7pts in that span. All 3 are either at or ahead of their career per game averages. Those 3 are doing exactly what everyone expects them to do, the rest of the team...not so much.

EP 2g2a 4pts which is about his average

Brock 1g2a 3pts which is about his average

Bo 1g1a  2pts which is about his average

Quick question for ya...do you know how to look up NHL stats?

quick question for you

are stats the only indicator of production for you

nucks no longer dictate play or control play

that onus rests on the top tier

Yeah just go ahead and move those goal posts when someone points out that you're incorrect. Its the CDC way after all.

The 3rd line caught my eye. It’s a line that has real possibilities. Those are some pieces that should fit well together, but they are still individuals and chemistry can’t be forced.

Go Canucks Go!!!

I agree. Definitely has the potential to cause a few headaches. As critical as some fans get with Leivo, he's pretty dynamite along the boards and in maintaining puck possession. We're also seeing some underrated playmaking ability from Virtanen and a heap of energy from Gaudette. Should make for a good convo. My only criticism would be no left handed stick, but if Hughes or Edler jumps in, shouldn't be a huge issue, especially since Leivo and Virtanen have improved in the defensive end.

Some food for thought:

Well I'm sure the fire Green crowd will ignore this and continue to blame the PP for our woes. Too much dump and chase and not playing with possession, yet we are controlling games? How is that possible?

I guess when the team is playing confident with Marky in net, it opens up the defensive side of things. Time to tighten things up defensively, but surely losing several defensive bottom 6 forwards will do that to a team. But I suppose we can't blame injuries either.
