We usually only get one scoring chance and they get it out quick. We have to be the worst in the league for how much effort it takes just to move the puck out, and how many times we literally pass it directly back still in our zone. Then our offensive zone play. it's almost the exact same thing. Columbus is employing a standard defense of 2-1-2 or being 2 forwards near the hashmarks, 2 defensemen on the boards and 1 forward directly in front of the blue paint. They pick off every cross ice pass or manage to stick every puck going by. It's almost sad how predictable it is. This is literally down to coaching, or an inability to change your game plan mid game. What can you do? The consistency has gone out the window and the ability to turn things around late has disappeared. If confidence and fragility are an issue in the room, it’s a tell tale sign this team is not ready or capable of battening down the hatches and getting it done in crunch time, which means they aren’t ready for a brutal, 7 game series. Until they get that figured out. They are a mentally, fragile team. How about dominating a team once and a while. Is that too much to ask? Other teams do it all the time.
