This isn't the Willie teams, they are underperforming. whcanuck Posted November 15, 2021 Share Posted November 15, 2021 The Canucks were awful from 1997-1999, but at least you had the last 50 goal season of Pavel Bure & the emerging superstar in Markus Naslund. Plus Bertuzzi and Jovanovski came aboard and Crawford was brought in by Burke to try to get the train back on the tracks, which eventually it did. Modern times just feels lifeless, there’s literally nothing on the ice to hang your hat on, nothing you can look forward to watching. It’s just apathy and lifeless play, night after night after night. For the first time in 30 years, I’m actually questioning whether I want to continue cheering for this team. It feels awful to think that after all the wonderful memories, but I just feel like ownership doesn’t give two $&$&& about us fans or bringing a Stanley Cup here someday.
