We have a LOT of offense depth, we don't have anywhere near enough depth on defense. Who are you planning on replacing Myers with on the right side? Even if Benning is gone, I doubt Toffoli would welcome a trade back here after passing on him. Anyways, it's not what we need. We need more depth and stability on our backend and removing Myers doesn't help with that one bit. Is Myers overpaid yes, but with QH and EP signed mid/long term, and Luongo coming off the books and a potential for the cap to boom once the economy restart, not sure that saving cap space is a priority right now. Wouldn't mind Myers for a more defensive defenseman but it doesnt make sense to bring in another offensive specialist especially a forward. I wouldn’t say they have 3 lines going. Regardless a rebuilding team line Montreal has no use for a 31 year old $6m boat anchor with 3 years left on his contract.
