[Rumour] Canucks poking on Pesce

Same here. Willander should be ready at the end of 24/25… Schenn for 2-3 years at a low salary fits perfectly.

I like Schenn. LOVE his physicality and leadership. Happy to have him back in a 6/7 role and occasional fill in with Hughes... But he can't really be THE guy to plunk next to Hughes for the next couple years, while we wait (hopefully) for Willander.

He's not good or fast enough, and he isn't going to get better over the next two years.

Just think it's the smarter approach. This way we're not tying up cap space for potential upgrades. I think this would be a safe approach.

Pesce is the perfect partner for Quinn BUT he’ll come in at 6.5m x 8 years at 29 years of age and that’s a similar deal hronek is going to get

be careful what you wish for…

hughes-pesce

soucy-hronek

that’s pretty sick doe

I don’t think you are getting either of them for that low a number.  Top 4 RHD with leverage?  Those numbers might start with an eight.

Well in that case. I say we take a chance on Dumba to rebuild his stock. 2 years 4 per.

I rather leave that bottom pairing open for internal growth or Cal Foote. Then we have Jett Woo, if he can build on last year he could get a look the following year or callup.

I hear ya. But I’d rather spend the money on the second pairing, and let Hughes carry his pair. If we magically have the cap for both, then we’ve achieved some unforeseen cap wizardry

POKE HIM REAL GOOOOOODDDD

2024 1st + Brock 1 mill retained and Woo

So we are going to trade 2024 1st rounder -- Boeser - Woo ?

Pesce, 6'2  -210--- RD  29 yrs old  November  1yr remaining X 4million -- Next summer will demand  5 yrs X 5 million  --minimum

I would not be trading away 1st rounders for 29 year old players? --

Sign UFA  Ian Cole - 2 yrs X 2.2 million - Will play. #4 spot for 2 yrs

RFA- Coghlan  25 -6'2 - RD - Upside needs a fresh start..Not sure if Carolina qualified him?

Canucks can't over spend on players  they sign this summer..

Pearson - could be back 3.2 million against cap?

Petey  24 - to sign 10.4 X 8 yrs against cap next season?

Hronek - 25 -  to sign --5 yrs X 5 --5.5 million ? against cap next season

Lets try and have cap room to make some trades..

LA Kings - Vegas - Edmonton -- There are three tough teams to pass-

Current cap space = 6.4 million

Cap hit  with LTIR Candidates 12.1 million

(( Pearson & Poolman )) Talk Pearson might be ready for Sept ? No rumours on poolman?

He'll be 30 when he signs his 7-8 year deal.  He's getting $6 million+.  Hronek at $7 million+.  Hughes at $10 million+ plus in 4 years.  Where is the money coming from to fit all these guys?  And where is Willander going to play, on the 3rd pairing?  Why bother drafting a stud RHD who projects as a top pairing guy if you are just going to overpay for a 30 year old in free agency?

If we were actually going to trade for Pesce, we should have drafted Matthew Wood instead...

28+1=29

Though I still wouldn't trade for him.

The gap between Carolina and Pesce is reported to be significant - that's why he could be traded because they can't agree on an extension.  6.5 x 5 years seems rather reasonable.  Severson just got 8x 6.25M when the cap is still flat.  Pesce's new deal starts when there will be a clear rise to the cap.

Not really sure what we could offer tbh.

1st is automatic.

Likely could use a cheaper scoring winger so beauviller would be in the deal.

Maybe beauviller + raty + 2024 1st

But we would have to be sure that we were contending.

Raty is the only top end C prospect they have, trading him makes no sense.
