if i'm tryamkin

and play out my 3 year khl contract

i'd re-up for 1 additional year in the khl

so i can return to the nhl as a free agent

then i'd have no ties to any nhl team

and sign a larger return contract as a result

why return 1 year before i could be entirely free ??

Hard to say that he dosent want to be in Vancouver, Coastal.

Considering his active Instagram account has his profile picture presently wearing a Canucks Jersey, as it has all year.

Vancouver might be the best way to have a bit more control over his situation, if he comes to prove himself in that single season, and proves good worth, if he goes to UFA the next season, He can still go as a proven NHL’r to any team.

obviously there is some apprehension in signing a player that might decide to return to mother Russia..

But Tryamkin has lived up to honour the contracts he has signed so far.

you already believe he has nothing to prove

so i'd take that position if i am him

no point risking a 1 year return which  might show otherwise

i'd return only if i got a 5 year guaranteed high value contract

to a team that coddles russian players

that'd work best for me

thanks

I’m pretty sure the Canucks own rights until July 1st, 2022. So Nik would need to re-up for 2 more years in the KHL to wait out Vancouver’s NHL rights. Probably better just to come back to the NHL on a two-year deal with the Canucks. He’ll be 27 on July 1st, 2022 and 28 by the start of the 2022-23 season. That’s a long time to wait just to avoid “dope city” and the ghost of Willie Desjardins.

well then if i were him i'd re-up in the khl for 2 years then

my kid will be ready to start school when i'm ready to come back to the nhl

the timing works pretty well

and i can pick where i want to go

If I was Tryamkin I'd be telling the Canucks I'll only come back if they delete the last 150pages in this thread.

No way MAc! This is Canuck lore in the making. A saga that will rival the Vikings finding Newfieland.

Exactly this.  He plays his one year and is a force in the league and he will get paid for it.  A year of self promotion then hes still a free agent and can sign for a higher dollar somewhere.  (Hopefully here)

McCann-Guddy trade was excellent

Baer trade was very good, as was the granny trade

Burr trade was an absolute robbery

Hansen trade was good, could be very good

not sure you can call the Bur trade robbery.  They made a deep run with him and down the stretch he was very good for them.  They got value from that trade as did we.

Hard to believe they're only one year removed from taking Pittsburgh to double overtime in game 7 of the Eastern Conference finals.

Amazing how quickly that team fell into disarray.

don't worry

i'm not

i just don't know why people think he has any loyalty to the canucks

he keeps a pic of himself in an nhl jersey on his account

says a nice thing or 2 to some writer once or twice a year

wow

but what he did

is he left the nhl to go back to russia

is what shows most clearly what he wants

it is more likely if he performs there

that putin's team will scoop him up

and pay him to stay so he will earn nhl type money

at best he clearly is ambivalent about coming back here

he could just as easily just be leaving options for himself open

in case his present team folds and he has no where else to go

Kind of makes you wonder what was lying beneath the surface in the relationships in the locker room.

If they get one year of benefit from Burrows and we get 12-15 years of Dahlen being a top 6 forward for us. I think you could call that robbery, jury is still out though.

how often does a team get to the conference finals on average and a game 7 at that.  Teams are in the business of trying to get in the playoffs and win.  When they are close they often trade prospects for vets.
