Subban is a D man.  A point producing one.  They're actually solid on the GAA but two young guys to grow with their emerging core while shedding that contract is far from out of the realms of possibility

They need D-man that can help them in the NHL.

Subban is not there yet, might never be.

Tanev for Kane is too much. The Canucks overpay.

Tanev for Kane and a 1st is an overpayment for Buffalo..

Tanev and Jake for Kane and Sam R. Is that a happy compromise?

^

I think this is not that far off.  Benning was over the moon for Sam Reinhardt heading into that draft. Im pretty sure we would have to add a 2nd or a roster player like Sven.

Not sure Buffalo wants to trade Reinhardt , especially when they are struggling to score goals and Eichel is still hurt.

if we are trading Tanev, I would hope its for more of a sure fire top 6 player.

Tanev + Virtanen for Landeskog and 3rd 2017.

Tanev + CBJ 2nd for Draisiatl ( I don't want RNH)

Tanev for Ehlers

Tanev + CBJ 2nd for Nylander

Tanev for Barzal and NYI 2nd (heck Griffin cost a 1st and 2nd) and 5th

Tanev + CBJ 2nd for Saad

Tanev +3rd for Konecny + 2nd

Tanev + Virtanen for Tiffoli + 3rd

Tanev + CBJ 2nd for Sam Reinhart + 3rd

these are the types of trades that make more sense

Problems is most of those teams have no need for another RHD
Avs have Barrie and Johnson

Oilers might be interested although they do have Larsen, Sekera and Reinhart.  They wouldn't trade Leon for subban so tanev is out

Jets have Byfuglein, Myers, Trouba

Devils maybe

Flyers maybe

Kings maybe they do have doughty as there number one d

Sabres have Risto bogo franson

CBJ has Jones

Did Winnipeg actually turn down a 1st for Trouba?  Tanev is worth more than Trouba imo

I disagree with that. Trouba is a young playmaking d-man that is on the rise. Tanev would be more of a TD deal to a competitor, while Trouba would be more of an off-season move (to any team).

That's a good read but I sense it's the bloggers wet dream that Minnesota has cap space or willing to cough up good young D such as Brodin for Kane. They have promising prospects such as Tuch and Gilmore waiting in the wings along with Eriksson Ek to go with 6 forwards with NMC's. He mentions Fowler as does every other blogger.

I'd be happy with that, but I just can't see Buffalo trading Reinhart.

Don't see him as a top pairing guy. A solid top 4 most likely.

Not saying I would do that deal, but that's likely the ballpark of Buffalo's asking price. Gotta remember Hutton is a relative unknown around the league. Other GMs aren't gonna attach as much value to him as we do.

Ohhhhhh me thinks Hutton is known well enough throughout the league

Bob McKenzie mentioned today Hutton as a possibility in a Kane deal.

That's a little more even than Tanev one for one. Cap wise it wouldn't work though.

If they did that then it means they have faith in Tryamkin, Juolevi and possibly Brisebois going forward.
